Lotsa Birthdays

It was my niece's 20th birthday last Sunday and some of the family members came here at the house to celebrate and have lunch with us. It's actually just a simple lunch but memorable. I cooked about 3 dishes, which I receive some nice praises (dapat lang hehe) while my SIL cooked the spaghetti and fried the fishes. Since my niece's mom is out of the country my SIL and I took the initiative to have small celebration for her and I'm glad that she was more than thankful for what we have prepared for her.

I should have given her graphic tees or other material gifts but she said the cooking and preparation that we made for her is already good enough than the material gifts that she can receive.. awww that is sweet.

This weekend (the 25th), another niece of mine is celebrating her 21st birthday so there’s another lunch at their house this time. I will not be cooking any meal this time but I promised that I will order her a cake. A nephew will also celebrate his birthday on 26th and I’m not sure if she’ll come home to celebrate it with us. Ahhh… my nieces and nephew are baby no more….

Anything Under the Sun

I've been using twitter for the last 3 years now and I have to say that it has become a secret haven for my online friends. We had our accounts in private so we're able to chat or talk just about anything under the sun. There are times the topic is about shopping, which we all love!, our hobby digital scrapbooking, parenting bec. most of my friend are mommies, love and relationship, work, health, make up, even return of premium life insurance plus so many other topics that we can think of.

I just so love my circle of twitter friends as they are not only my friend online but in real live as well. We are supportive of each other whenever one needs help or uplifting. I thank God for having found these ladies, though we may have different opinions, likes and dislike but in the end we are for each other.

Survive a Storm Shelters

How many times have we heard people have been killed by a powerful storms and tornado in some parts of the US and the world? Not only lives have perished but houses, properties and even their business. It's such a heartbreaking scene to see the massive destruction that a powerful tornadoes can do to all of us.

Tornadoes can be very violent and I reckon if you’re in an area where storms and tornadoes frequent and you don’t want to relocate, I suggest you do invest in having a storm shelter like this for it can save you and your family when tornadoes hit. image

Organizing Wires

These days, more and more people have been enjoying their computers or laptops for their personal or business use. Networking one computer to another most often than not involves countless wires and cables. We may experience wires looping on each other and it's also unsightly to see at some point. Though there are now computers going wireless in their connectivity, wires are still visible and I reckon we'll be using them for many years more.

We can hide those wires under our carpet or but thanks to wire duct that can make our wires organized when we set it up on our homes or offices. Managing our wires are now much easier and I can say more pleasing to see.

Career Change

Thanks to YM and social networking sites that let me communicate faster to my relatives most especially those that are already living in other countries. Not it can only made communication easier but it makes it more affordable since we can minimize calling on the phone because we can talk via Skype or YM chats for hours.

Anyway, talked to my cousins one weekend and I was more than happy to see them once again and talk about our lives. It’s always heartwarming to know that they are still much Pinoy inside even though they have lived there for over 2 decades already. Some have changed careers, from a corporate employee to a nurse. It was amazing to know that they have found their passion already.

Another cousin has been working in a company is also thinking about shifting too. It looks like that she loves fashion and beauty and that she wanted to go back to school. She wanted to enroll in a beauty school like cosmetology school to learn more and hone her skills. I’m sure she’ll do good on it most especially if she’ll put her heart and mind over it.

Online courses also means that you can still learn while inside your homes so moms at homes or even older adults can definitely take advantage of this system.

Thanks to the Internet

I was stuck in the house for almost a week now. My mom is sick so I need to take care of her. Thankfully, I have my laptop and new desktop plus a net connection to keep me busy and sane. I could not imagine myself stuck in the house with nothing to do. My sister in law and a family friend are tending our computer shop most of the times because I can't come there. I'm also thankful because my work is online so I can still meet deadlines even if I'm home.

My digi- designing also helps with my monthly budget as I get commission on my sales. My designing mojo is also flowing so I was able to finish another digi-kit this week while I'm here at home. 

Thanks to the Internet as well for I can still communicate with my sisters, friends and other relatives online. In fact, I had a small chat with a college friend and she’s asking me to join their networking business but I declined. I think I rather sell  used restaurant equipment or cosmetics than to join such. It’s not my cup of tea anyway.

Quick and Easy Healthy Breakfast Ideas

We have often heard people say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Health experts advised that it is one meal that should not be missed, as it will help your body sustain the activities of the day. From the name itself, it means that this meal breaks the fasting that our body underwent for being in sleep for more than 6-8 hours. After dinner, food has already been digested while asleep and so it is important to break that fasting and eat in the morning so our body has something to depend on to last through the day.

Most often than not, a lot of us just skip breakfast or since people are always in a hurry, they just end up drinking coffee or eating foods rich in preservative like cup noodles or processed food that is easy to fry like hotdogs and ham.

But lack of time shouldn’t be a reason that can keep individuals from eating a healthy breakfast. There are a number of food choices that is very easy to prepare while at the same time can provide the vitamins and energy that the body needs for the whole day’s worth of activities.

Here are some healthy breakfast ideas that is quick and easy to prepare:

1. Healthy Juice. Too much caffeine is bad for your health so instead of drinking coffee, you can drink juice like Monavie’s healthy juice drink made from Brazilian’s acai berry. This healthy juice contains antioxidant that rids off harmful toxins from the body. It also has a lot of health benefits like reducing the risk of heart diseases, delays the ageing on skin, aids in good digestion and many more.

2. Cheese or Yogurt mix with fruits. Fresh fruits are a very healthy food that is rich in vitamins and minerals that is why it is also a best choice for breakfast. Mix it with yogurt or cottage cheese and it will make your meal even more exciting to eat.

3. Cereals. Choose those that are rich in fiber and protein. Simply mix it with your favorite milk and voila, an easy to prepare but healthy breakfast is served.

4. Oatmeal. Just like yogurt, you can make your oatmeal more enticing to eat by adding milk and fruits like berries, bananas, apples and more.

5. Breakfast Parfait. This is another no effort meal and can be done by adding granola bars (which can be easily bought in the supermarket) or cereal, yogurt and fruits in a bowl.

6. Eggs. There are plenty of ways that you can cook an egg – boiled, poached, fried. Your microwave can be a good friend too as you can easily make egg omelette by mixing egg, milk, vegetables, cooked meat, seafood, and cheese. In less than 2 minutes, you can have freshly cooked omelette in your breakfast nook.

7. Breakfast Shake or Smoothie. It is very easy to make a smoothie. Just choose any flavor of yogurt or ice cream, and then just add milk or fruit juice and fresh fruits and you now have a delicious smoothie.

8. Waffles. Waffle batter is readily available or you can even make your own the night before and just put it in the refrigerator and it is ready to be cook the next day. With the help of tools like electric waffle iron, making waffles for breakfast is just a few minutes away.

9. Toast or Bagel with Natural Peanut Butter. Use wheat bread if you are conscious of your calorie intake and spread natural peanut butter which contains healthy fat with no preservatives,

You may be on the go but that shouldn’t stop you from having a healthy breakfast, and with some of these healthy breakfast ideas in mind, you will never start your day with an empty stomach again.
