Keeping Your Baby Comfortable While Travelling

Travelling is sometimes nerve-wrecking, moreso when you’re travelling with a baby. The planning, packing and rigors of the trip are enough to send some parents over the edge. Babies require a lot of comfort and care therefore you have to be sufficiently prepared for the trip in order to be able to pay attention to your little one.

That being said, It is always wise to pack your stuff a day before the trip, ensuring that all necessary items like diapers and wipes, formula, change of clothes, blankets, bibs and strollers, as well as light entertainment tools for your baby are placed in your hand luggage for easy access. You should be able to get what you need without inconveniencing other passengers or spending too much time and effort.

If you are travelling by plane then you won’t be able to have liquids on board so it is recommended that you prepare the dry formula in your baby’s bottle or cup beforehand then request for water when necessary. Ensure you follow your baby’s feeding schedule to prevent hunger-induced tantrums.

Do not be daunted by the fears of travelling with your baby. Infuse as much fun as you can and make great memories you will look back on with happiness. For more tips on preparing for a plane trip with an infant, see the infographic.

Tips for a Fun Family Vacation

An out of the country trip with the entire family is something to look forward to and details should be planned ahead of time. While it may be a little challenge to travel with toddlers and young kids, there are ways on how to make it a fun one without having to stress out over small things. On the other hand, traveling with teenagers would mean getting ready for an adventure as they’d like to try out new things and explore places without hesitation.

So how can you prepare for a memorable trip?

1. Know what to pack. Make sure that your luggage contains items that you’ll need for the trip. In determining what type of clothes and footwear to pack, make sure to know a little something about your destination. If you are about to travel to a tropical country with relatively warm weather all year round, there’s no need for a coat or heavy sweater. Instead grab a few shirts made from light materials.

2. Plan your trip’s itinerary based on the interests of each family member. It will be nice to go on a trek as a family, but is it something that everyone will enjoy? Ask your kids on what they are expecting from this trip and if there’s any specific place that they might want to visit. Make a list of the likes and interests of everyone, thais can help you map out places to check out and activities to try during the trip.

3. Do not spoil the fun. There’s always something new to learn and experience once on a trip. The differences in might lead you to try on a local food, wear their traditional dress or learn to speak a little of their language. All these things are fun and enjoyable if you are up for an adventure. If your family’s up to trying it out, do not spoil the fun spirit and join in with them.

A checklist of the things to bring along with other important details will be a great help in making sure that the trip will be hassle free. Remember that if you are going out of the country, make sure to check the visa requirements and submit all the necessary documents ahead of time.

Netbooks Come in Handy

About 2 weeks ago, my family and I went on a 6-day vacation in Singapore. It was a great opportunity for us to bond together because it was also a mini-reunion since my other siblings came from different country where they are residing already. We have lots of good memories together and those are priceless. We almost covered all the tourist spots in Singapore but still our 6 days are not enough. During those days, I'm so fortunate that I don't have pending works that's why I was able to enjoy our vacation.

My BIL brought along his netbook so he can download photos from his DSLR camera and posts our pictures via facebook while I just use my iPhone to post on my FB and twitter accounts. Bringing a netbook is much more easier because it’s much lighter compared to other laptops. They are perfect when you travel. Just in case you are contemplating of getting a netbook click here for best netbooks for your perusal.

Another Balikbayan

I got a message at my Facebook account from my uncle who is in CA right now and he is advising me to tell my older brother to pick them up at the airport come 1st week of September. Yey, he is going back home again with my aunt for a vacation and I’m not sure yet how long they will be staying once again. Mom and bro will be fetching them at the airport using our van and they’ll go straight to the province. It would also be nice if we have an RV especially if we’re going to the province for a visit, but just thinking about the rv repair and it's maintenance, then I guess it would be impossible for us to acquire one.

Anyway, tt seems that my uncle and aunt  are going back and forth from the US to PI most of the times now that they are already retired. I will not wonder if in the future they will also retire and go back home here in their native land as they are saying that life in the US is kinda hard already and staying here will be a good choice. Hmmm.. I’m waiting for the chocolates and some other pasalubongs (gifts) hehe..

Traveling Around the World

It’s my routine already to open my e-mail, twitter and facebook account every morning before I go to work. Sometimes it’ll take me an hour or 2 (or even more) to finish those tasks. I was so happy to see lots of photos and updates from my facebook account each day and it makes me connected with my friends, family and relatives.

A shoutout of my cousin caught my attention because she mentioned that she already had visited 96 countries in 3 years, 80 of which after she recovered from stage III cancer. I was so happy for her for she’s on her toes once again. The latest photos that she shared was from New Zealand the other day and now she’s in Bali. I bet she’s having a blast with all her travel.

Meeting new people, experiencing new culture, going to tourists spots, eating new food and hearing language are just some of the exciting things about traveling. I commend her (my cousin) for being so brave traveling alone, not to mention the language barrier sometimes is too hard. With all the countries she has been, I wonder if it came to a point where she needs  translation services so she can communicate much easier. You know, there are countries that not all of their native people can speak English, the universal language so mostly communication will be tough.

Meanwhile, I’m excited to know where’s the next destination of my cousin. Ahhh.. I envy her, How’d I wish I have lotsa money and can travel around the world too.

Summer is Just Around the Corner

Summer is just around the corner and I already could hear from friends about their summer getaway. Why not? They got good deals on air fare and I guess from the resort that they have booked. I'm sure they will have a grand time with their respective families. As for my family, we really have no plans of going out of town.

If only I had my way, I want to go to Cebu, Bohol and Palawan but with my health conditions, it's refraining me from going out of town or going to far places. Anyway, I know that bonding and having fun with the family doesn't need to be expensive. I'm sure in the future, our family can go on tour or vacation once again just like what we did last Christmas of 2009 when we went to Hongkong for 4 days.

A road trip is also nice most especially if we have a motor home with a motorhome insurance for safety. I know it's more fun to travel when we're all comfortable esp. when there are kids. I'm sure those that already have bookings for vacation this coming March- May can't wait for summer to come.

Travel Itch

My oldest sister is itching to travel once again. She's been e-mailing me back and forth about their plans and she's really quite excited over it. Another Asian trip is cooking up and just like what she's been telling us, we need to have fun once in a while. She also wanted to my mom to experiencing traveling until she's still fit to board an airplane.

I hope sis can get a great deal on tickets because we'll not worry about the place that we're staying since she has a bestfriend who has a house already in SI. I hope we'll also experience Branson vacation the next time we'll have travel itch. Yay, I'm getting excited now!

If Only

Please allow me for I just want to day dream for a while. A day at the beach and I was sitting under the coconut tree, sipping my piƱa colada while watching the waves and hearing the chirping of the birds. The soft breeze of the wind is softly passing my body and that makes me more relax.. ahhh pure bliss. I hope I can experience this one of this days.

I also have dreams of going out of the country with my family once again in few years and I hope if God permits we all can take a vacation just like last year. It would be great if we can go to one of those Branson attractions and for sure not only the kids will have a blast but adults as well. Can't wait for that to happen.

24 Years of Marital Bliss

My sister and brother in law will be celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary on May 10 and it’s such a blessing. I can see their love and affection with each other up to now but of course there are moments of times where there is misunderstanding and arguments. How I wish more couples will celebrate years of years together. Meanwhile my mom and dad (if he is still alive) will be celebrating their 53rd anniv. on May 5th.

I’m not sure what their anniversary plans are since my sis and bil are both working in Saudi as contract workers but I’m pretty sure they will both have a dinner together or with their friends. I know they also love vacation, having been to many Asian countries to unwind with their children but a vacation  in Jamaica would be perfect without their kids in tow. I’ve been hearing some of my online friends also planning to take a vacation this year and they are always on the look out for vacation deals just like what Breezes resorts are offering.

A time to bask in the sand along the beautiful beaches of Jamaica, Panama or Bahamas is always expected. Out of Town Family Vacation Soon

It’s summer once again and although we are always complaining how hot it is these days to go out, most of us are still wanting to go swimming or have some fun summer activities. I have quite few friends and relatives who already went out swimming with their families and with the looks of it, they really enjoyed it.

My bro and her family will be going to Club Manila East Resort in Batangas on May for 2days for their family outing along with other families of my SIL's officemates and right now they are already planning on what to bring. With the upcoming out of town travel that they will have, my brother is also trying to see to it that our van is in proper condition. The breaks and the engine should be on its tip top shape plus he’s checking the audio system to ensure that they will not be bored while traveling.

Kids will also be cranky if they will not be able to watch DVD inside the car so I’m sure tons of DVDs will be included. Driving while using the mobile phone is a no-no, so to be safe a headset is a must for my bro. He’s also wishing that our van will have a GPS system so that it’ll be more hi-tech and I guess he needs to consider installing these in the future.

Travels in my Mind

It seems that most of my friends have been to Hongkong lately. My family went there in December and my friends' families went there last year and early this year and with the looks of it they also had a blast eventhough it is tiring. We definitely deserved a vacation and who knows we might get Florida vacation rentals in the future.  Hmm....that's a dream but we can afford that plus it's very hard to get a US visa.

I guess we can have another Asian vacation maybe in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand. My neighbor friend went in Bangkok  with her 2 kids last Dec. 29 and she told me that shopping there is much cheaper. Oh well as long as we have savings we can afford to go anywhere we go. Life is too short so we need to enjoy it!

Cold Hongkong

We are back home last Dec. 24 from our HOngkong trip and we all had a blast. Wish we can stay there longer to see more places but we got no more time. It's beautiful there but it's so cold because it's already winter there and we are wishing we had an electric blanket in the hostel where are staying. We braved the cold while seeing the tourist spots because we have our winter jackets on. I have many photos to share and of course stories to share but I will do that after the holidays.

Bound to Shop

Oh I just can't wait our Hongkong trip with my family this December. It's always been our topic most especially when we gather. How can we not be giddy about it? Aside from it'll become a mini reunion for us, my sisters, teenage nieces and I are bound to shop. There's no stopping us haha. For sure barcode scanner will be non-stop when we buy some loots, that is if we have lots of money in our pockets.

I hope I can still save some more so I can have more pocket money that I will bring. My recent birthday celebration and other expenses made me spent this month. Ok now I'm counting the days before our trip.

Any Preps For the Coming Holidays?

Christmas is going to be here so soon. How crazy is that? Have you been preparing your Christmas lists yet or perhaps vacation with your family? As for me, I have started to buy some gifts already but I know it will take me till Christmas to finish them. We are also going to take a family vacation overseas and that makes us more excited. What about you?

If you are taking a holiday in December anywhere like in Boracay or Palawan then I suggest that you start your preps now by booking your tickets bec. for sure it’ll be sold like hotcakes. One of the perks of being early is avoiding rush, getting discounted fares and packages and not being stressed out.

The Charm of Germany

Since the holidays are slowly creeping in and the weather getting cooler each day, i can’t help but to think and get excited over our Hongkong trip. I guess you must have noticed that I have blogged it often. Travelling is always fun especially if you travel with your family. It’s always the perfect time to bond with them and share the joys and precious moments that come along with discovering new places and culture.

We all know that one of the most visited places in the world is Europe and probably always wished places to visit. Aside from Paris which I have long been dreaming of perhaps Germany can be included in my wish list as well. I’ve come to know that Germany aside from its rich culture and history, boasts of great history legends like Beethoven, Albert Einstein just to name a few, architectures, sceneies and lots more.

Autobahn, is another thing which is Germany’s high-speed vehicular traffic that has no speed limits for drivers. Visitors or tourists in Germany will never have a hard time looking for a place to stay for there are lots of hotels where you can check in. Discover these nice key cities and learn more about Germany where you can explore mixtures of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Whether you are in business or leisure trip for sure Germany will capture our hearts.
