Living Life to the Fullest

There are times when I wished that I’m still in my late 20’s or 30’s for I have been missing how to be young and full of life. Not that I’m too old already but during those days, my body is more flexible and I have more energy to do a lot of things. It is also the age when adventure mode is at it fullest.

Been thinking about my niece right now who is in her mid 20’s for she is living her life to the fullest. She graduated already at the one of the universities in Sydney and has a job right now. Been talking to her and she said she’s been saving a lot lately for her European tour this month. Right now, she is in London with her friends, attending different festivals. Her instagram feed is loaded with fun things that they have been doing and one of those is when they are watching a concert. I know she loves music and going to such festival with her friends will make her ecstatic. For sure the concert is a blast with all the sounds and effects that has prepared. One can even get alltube at Guitar Center if they wish.

Niece will tour other countries like Amsterdam, France and more. Wow! Wish I can do that do especially that I’d love to see the Eiffel tower in Paris.

Home is Where the Heart is

We often hear this saying and it is always true. Our home will always be the place where we can be who we are, where we can get so much love with our loved ones and receive warm hugs and kisses. Our haven is the place where we can relax after a hard days work from the office. A simple relaxation can involve soaking in a warm bath while reading or sipping wine or just simply listening to music.

Music in our homes can play an important role in our lives as it can set any mood depending on the tune that we hear. If you can carry a tune, using vocal microphone to belt out a song can be a relaxing one too. You can groove to the dance music, cry or become sentimental when you hear a sappy sound. No matter what music you want to hear nothing beats listening to your home where you can relax and enjoy.

Kids and Music

These days, there's no doubt that kids want explore new things that surround them. It's always been healthy and productive for them if they choose to be active and curious all the time as their minds are being occupied with new things to learn. Making them busy by letting them play, write, draw, engage in sport, sing or play instruments cam help them a lot in improving their intelligence, self confidence and more.

It's always nice to see kids play the instrument since not all kids also like music and can play. Parents should encourage and support them in this kind of filed. Sending them to music classes can greatly help the kids to hone their skills and express themselves. You can also get them guitars piano or any musical instrument that they have interest in. If musical instruments and accessories are needed, online is a good choice to find some supplies. Find alvarez at Musician's Friend and you'll see load of guitars to choose from.

Encourage kids and even adult to hone their musical talent and who knows they might excel in this field.

Interest in Musical Instrument

Kids always wanted to explore new things and in their environment. It's actually healthy for them to learn and experience new things in their lives as it is where they can gain more knowledge that can help them. Not all kids also like music and to play an instrument so it's kinda refreshing and exciting to see if a kid is interested in it.

If parents noticed that they are showing interest in playing the guitar, piano, drums or any musical instruments, I reckon it is best for the parents to encourage and support them. Who knows they might excel in that field and even made them as a career in the future. Sending them to music classes can greatly help the kids to hone their skills and express themselves. You can also get them guitars piano or any musical instrument that they have interest in.

Never force your kids to learn something that they are not passionate about for they will not excel on that field if they lack interest.

Sound Trippin': Songbird by Kenny G

If I think of a great flutist and saxophonist, KENNY G. will be the first person in my mind. Why not? He's been playing saxophone and flute with so much passion and soul that his listeners will be in awe and mesmerized. His music is classic and can be heard up until now on different places. He started playing when he was just 17 and started his professional career in the 80's. He has released so many solo albums and with other artists.

If you're aiming to become Kenny G, never give up on your dreams, study and practice hard. Always remember that if you love music, you need to have passion and dedication over it.

Kids and Musical Instruments

I have never mastered any musical instruments that is why I just those people that can play well. I have tried piano when I was a kid but never got to a point where my parents enrolled me to a musical school. About few years ago, I was fascinated with guitars especially when I saw women playing as I find it so cool. Since my two brothers and one nephew know how to play, I asked them to teach me but I failed. The strings are just hurting my little fingers and I actually didn't like it. Too bad, I gave up without trying so hard and not being patient enough. I reckon playing a musical instrument is not for me too so I'll just leave it to others.

It's often a delight to see kids who are passionate about music and playing musical instruments. I guess parents need not force on them what to like for kids will not be happy with they will be doing in the long run. Let them discover what they like to play and just support them. A son of my friend loves to play drums and with his desire, they bought him  top electric drum set and even enrolled him in a class.I heard that he is loving every minute that he is hitting the drum. I will not wonder if one day, my friend's son will have a career in music for he is very passionate and consistent in what he likes.

Want to be a Great Jazz/R&B Musician? Bet You Didn't Think of This

Anyone who loves jazz, blues, and R&B knows the tops hits from Boyz II Men, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and just about every other great artist of the genre. Musicians all around have emulated and imitated their styles. But it takes a trained ear to distinguish just how complex and creative the musical styles and rhythms are within these A-list albums. Musicians working on their jazz, blues, and R&B musical styles need to know some very discreet but largely effective tips and tricks within the genre if they ever want to walk on the illustrious road to greatness.

Different Instruments
The Jazz/R&B genre is infamous for incorporating unique, uncommon, and interesting instruments, anything from soup spoons to steel pans to make some great tunes and catchy singles. If you've fallen into a rut within the same rhythms and time signatures, pick up a new instrument. Investing in a quality harmonica can really spice up any jazz/R&B band, and learning about common harmonica keys can step your music up in ways you couldn't even imagine. Musician's Friend has a wide selection of nearly every instrument you might think of to incorporate. Looking into "scat" singing and unique vocal skills could launch your singing career, too. Nowadays, musicians can simply speak through a mic and add some auto-tuning and synthesizing to transform their vocals; it takes real talent to master the art of voice. Use reliable music sources like Musician's Friend to answer questions and be inspired by.

Learn As Many Songs As You Can
We've all been there. You're at a party and someone pulls out a guitar, and everyone wants you to play. By learning some of the famous, catchiest, most well-known songs, you can entertain any crowd and captivate any audience with a killer cover. Plus, you will inevitably expand your understanding of different musical styles, perhaps very unlike your own. Good musicians make a style; great musicians learn many styles.

Intellect
Professional music isn't for everyone. On the contrary, the amount of time, effort, energy, and diligence required from any who call themselves "great" is astronomical. Memorize your instrument, don't play and look at what your hands are doing. Listen to music - a lot of it. Compare notes on what the greats have done, and how you differ and sound the same. Have patience. Not everyone can be great, and it's up to the chosen few to pioneer new styles, hit, and stories of diligence to inspire generations.

Nicki Minaj Live in Manila

Oh... how come I didn't know much earlier that Nicki Minaj will have a concert here in Manila. It was only today that I realized that she had a concert last night at SM Mall of Asia Arena. Oh I guess I'm old enough to be in her concert too because my generation is during Madonna, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet in the 80's. My teenage niece also missed it because she has no money to go there. Anyway, we'll just wait for the videos in YouTube and probably a special on TV.

All I am sure is that her fans will not be disappointed because there's no doubt that they'll be using state of the art musical instruments. Plus, Nicki will be bringing the house down with her good music and dance moves. I'm looking forward though for the concert of the American Idol Season 11 come September here.

Symphony in the Rain

Ahhhh.. it rained hard last night brought about by the ‘Ambo’, the 1st typhoon here in the country this year. I woke around 12 midnight due to the sound of the rain, gusty wind and the symphony of toads around. They are singing endlessly trying to catch a mate during this rainy season. What a nice sound to hear but it’s getting annoying later on. With that I guess I went back to sleep at 2 pm already.

This morning is the same, I can hear them loudly and it reminds me also of the music I heard when I was at the mall on weekend. It’s was soothing and beautiful.  I passed by a music store, trying to find Elixir guitar strings for my nephew who is playing the guitar and thankfully I got some for he asked me to buy it for him. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be hearing a lot of symphony of frogs since rainy season has just started.

Upcoming Concerts of Foreign Artists in Manila 2012

Wow, a lot of foreign singers are having their concerts here in our country this year. From old singers to new one plus band to solo or duet artists, they are coming here. It’s good for our country and the music industry though our local artists can’t help but to be a little sad because shows of foreign artists are flocked and patronized.

Sure we want to patronize and support our very own local artists but we also have the reason to watch shows of foreign singers. Not only they have great music, great stage and sound, but they don’t have shows here all the time so it’s a privileged for our country to be picked by those singers to staged their concerts and shows. Anyway, the 80’s singers like OMD (Orchestral Maneuver's in the Dark) just had their concert last Feb., Blake was also here last March for series of shows and more.

Music Lover

Dr Dre Headphones I always see my nephew with headphones on his head everytime I come to visit their house. It looks to me that he enjoys music while working in front of his computer. I just wished that he is not putting the audio into full blast for it is not advisable by doctors. We can only tolerate certain amounts of sounds and if in excess, it can already affect our hearing. Much to say that using them for long periods of time every day is also harmful.

Anyway, one time, I asked what he is into and he mentioned me that he is also mixing sound music and helping his cousin with the music on the online game that he is making. Wow, I never thought that he is also blessed with that music talent. Now, I know what to give him this Christmas, an HD Dr Dre Headphones would be perfect for him. I learn that this headphone has an extraordinary deep bass and audio clarity that can give quality music.

Sound Trippin': I'll Be by Edwin McCain

I'm just takin' a little break from my work and thought of sound trippin' again. I do this when I am already stressed or burned out with my work especially these days I am a bit up quite early and staying up late till midnight. Anyway, got this song at YouTube and been lovin' this song since then. I know it's already an old song (not that too old though) but it's a breeze to hear it again.

Come listen with me. Here's I'll Be by Edwin McCain with Lyrics.
