Phobia- What are you Afraid of?

I guess most if us if not all of us have fears about something and if worst have phobias. I can definitely say that I have one and it sometimes is interfering with my social life. I have tried not to think about too much but I guess I can't control it. I have fear of heights (ACROPHOBIA) and just the thought of going on high places especially the open areas like top or edge of building would definitely make me nervous and will sweat.

Aside from that I have fear of something that goes up and down say for example Ferri's Wheel, roller coasters, and would you believe even humps? LOL. You'll never encourage me to ride those because I know I 'll lost my breath and my stomach will turn over. I remember my niece tricked me in riding the Scooby Doo ride in Sydney, i almost faint in deep fear..LOL. She was laughing hard but I almost kill her for that ..lol

I am trying sometimes to counter my fear but I guess once it is there, it stays.. What about you ,What is your Phobia?

So what are phobias? Accdg. to Wikipedia A PHOBIA ( Greek word phóbos meaning FEAR), or morbid fear', is an irrational, intense, persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things, or people. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.

Weekend Snapshot: Window Shopping

My niece and I dropped by SM to look for something when she grabbed my hand and led me at the toy section. She really wanted me to buy her these Barbie Dolls and Little Mermaid but i told her it is not the time to buy those things and just told her if she is good she might get it on Christmas. Fortunately she didn't cry and she just enjoyed looking at them. Good thing is that I have my cam and I told her that i'll take pic of her with the toys.

What is the Purpose of Life?

I received this forwarded e-mail from a friend and it's a good read so I am sharing it here. These were some of the answers from the interview of Rick Warren who made the book " Purpose Driven Life"

When asked What is the Purpose of Life? He said,
" In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me. I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity. "
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

Phone Service Comparisons

Last March or it was in April when our phone at home went dead (no dial tone) for about 3 weeks and that made us so angry. I immediately reported the incident to them early and they have promised that they will bring the service back within a day or two. 2 weeks passed and still the same so I bombarded their service report line with my report. Worst thing happen and still no service from them so my mom had no choice but to report it personally at their office and that is only the time they addressed our complaints and after 2 days our phone was back to normal. How is that for a service huh? Sometimes it is disgusting bec. you pay for the service yet they can't deliver it well enough.

Anyway, I can go on with all my rants about that phone company but I am sparing you from that already. You can read about Phone Service Comparisons just in case you need a much faster and reliable server. Another popular ways to communicate with anyone is through VOIP or the Voice Over Internet Protocol. My sis and I have been using Skype for quite sometime now and our voice chatting so clear that you almost thought that you are using an ordinary phone.

High-quality Spectrotel phone service in VOIP and DSL are being offered to its clients. Find out more about Spectrotel here.

Be Accountable

Accountability may seem such a heavy word if we try to look at it. Being accountable for all our actions or the things we say is just a good sign of how good our personality is. One good example is that of writers/bloggers who are accountable for all the things that they written on their sites/blogs or papers. They should be responsible and answerable for all the contents of what they have written.

I have once read that being accountable is one of the fastest way to earn good respect and trust from anyone. I guess no matter we do we must always be ready to face any consequences and be liable to all the actions that we may execute.

Selling Gold Online by the Carat

Have you ever thought that we'd come to this age where mostly all of our transactions can now be done via the Internet? I remember when I first encounter about beepers in the '90s and we might have been amazed about it's functionality and usability of it to contact any person. It's amazing isn't it? Comes the cellphone and almost everyone are keen of buying one eventhough that price back then was so expensive compared these days.

Technology evolved through the years and computers on the other hand have become one of the most used gadgets already. These days paying the bills is just as swift as it can be. Just imagine just clicking some buttons and you are all done and you've been spared from going out to go to your bank. Shopping online and other transactions have made our lives much "easier" as it seems. Just lately I have learned that you can now sell 14k gold by the karat and/or any karat for that matter online and we all know that the higher the karat the higher the value.

Check out the original Cash4Gold website for information on selling gold online. Head over to the Cash4Gold blog for more details.

Updates on Typhoon Feria

Yesterday (24th) Metro Manila and other surrounding provinces suspended classes in pre-school, elementary and h-school classes due to Typhoon Feria. There are floods especially in low lying areas but here in our place it didn't rain that much.

Anyway, I was watching the news last night and I heard that Typhoon Feria already weakens and the storm signal no. 2 in Metro Manila was brought down at signal no. 1 but despite that there's still no classes (pre-school, elementary and h-school) in METRO MANILA, BATAAN, BATANGAS, and CAVITE today.

Feast of St. John the Baptist

Today, June 24th is the Feast of St. John the Baptist and to commemorate the day, devotees douse people with water which is traditionally  done. We even called it " San Juan Paligo" or "buhusan". There's a celebration on areas where St. John is their Patron Saint.

I am lucky enough today that I didn't get wet when I came here at my store because we went on a different route.

LP: Recycled Candles

Where you can find candles being recycled? ONLY HERE i guess in the Phils. My SIL is a Mother Butler at a small chapel here in our place and she collects used candles after the mass. She cooks it again and later on they will use the recycled candles again, good eh? VIEW MY OTHER ENTRY

Why Is It Hard to Wait?

Hmmmmm.. I've been waiting for something to arrive lately and the more I wait for it, the more it is not coming. Sometimes I am getting impatient but like what they say patience is virtue. I can't help myself to be frustrated at times and I know you have felt the same too.

I reckon I need to keep my cool and add more patience.. Oh I am waiting still....

To Text or Not To Text Inside the Church

.. that is the question. I was at the church last Sunday and I can't help myself from staring at this lovely teenage lady standing at almost at the back of the church. While the sermon is ongoing, she keeps on using her cellphone and I am guessing she is texting someone or maybe replying a message that she got. It's quite distracting  (look I have seen her, lol). One time I also saw a man almost running out of the church because his cellphone is ringing and that made almost everyone noticed him.

In my opinion, you can just turn the volume down so that it will not  be distracting to church goers or better yet turn it off for at least 1 hour. I don't think you'll miss a lot if you cut off yourself from your gadget.

I Can't Stop Window Shopping Online

Wahhh.. i've been window shopping for many days now and I can't seem to stop it. I am actually looking for some nice branded bags that I can probably purchase soon. You know, my old and cheap bag that I have been using for over a year now is already giving up on me and I think it is already time that I'll replace it.

Actually I already ordered one RL (Ralph Lauren) bag from Faye and I am guessing that it will arrive probably around 2nd week of July since it will come from the US. Ahhh I just can't wait to have it. I also want Nine West bags so I am browsing online for styles. I also saw woven leather bag from ColeHaan but when I saw the price.. wow it's too expensive and I can't afford such expensive bag.

I am not finished on finding what to buy and I just hope I will not be broke when I'll purchase them. huhu

Finally Here at Wordpress

Oh yes, I've been thinking about this lately and finally with the help of my nephew KARLO, we were able to transfer this blog from Blogger (which is free hosted) and my domain hosted by Godaddy to Wordpress last Saturday. He is actually using BlueHost at his blog server and my nephew was kind and generous enough to have me in to his hosting.

It was fine for a while but we encountered few errors along the way like  the permalinks and the comment section. My nephew could not found what is the problem why poeple were not able to post comment so he decided to reset my blog. I lost some posts but I was able to bring it back since I imported the old posts from my blogger blog.

I am just hoping and praying that that no problems will occur anymore because I will be stressed out ..lol

How do You Freshen Up Your Mind?

There are days when you're mind is just full of ideas, thoughts, ramblings, problems and things to do that sometimes you want to execute all of them, your mind just keep clogged. I guess you might have experienced that one point in your life. Too much thinking as what experts say that it can also do harm in our body so refreshing our minds is always helpful. Just take a look at those with heavy problems, you can actually see it in their eyes and in their bodies. The circles around their eyes and the sudden lost of weight can be noticeable as well.

So what do you do to freshen up your mind when your head wants to just burst? If I feel that I am in the brink of being exhausted, I try to stop at what I am doing and at times I just listen to calming or soothing music to de-clog my mind. Playing with our dog Sophie also helps me refocus and it helps me calm. Reading magazine or just taking a power nap are helpful as well.

What about you?
