Random Friday Thoughts

Geez it's Friday today and few more days it's May already. Time flies so fast and it looks like it's going to be yet another busy month for me.. workwise and I’m looking forward to that. I’m very productive this month as I have done over 6 photobook layouts and have ordered most of them already. I’m also getting inspired to finish some layouts for my new digital scrapbooking kit that I’m hoping to release mid May.

Today, my aunt and uncle came home all the way from California for they are building a house in the province where they can retire in few years time I guess. They visited us this morning and of course they gave us lots of gifts that they bright home. Though there are no alec bradley cigars for the guys, they brought Nike shoes/socks, a Coach wristlet for me (yey!), some canned goods, chocolates and lots more.

I’m looking forward on weekend for I’ll be meeting my former highschool classmates once again. I know that it will be another fun-filled night for all of us. Can’t wait to watch American Idol too and see who’ll be voted off now. Crossing my fingers that it will be Josh who’ll be send home.

Today

Outside my window… I can see the sun is up and it’s freaking hot and humid.
I am thinking… of scrapping and doing some designing today.
I am thankful for… continues work online and for all the blessings that I’m getting.
From the kitchen… I cooked pork adobo with kangkong leaves and atsara.
I am wearing… my comfortable duster eventhough I look like an old woman hehe.
I am creating… blogs posts for my several blogs
I am going…to watch the sterkly video later
I am reading… some blog posts of some friends to keep me updated with their lives.
I am hoping… that my niece and nephew will graduate in college this year if not this July.
I am hearing… the sound of commercial from our TV.
Around the house…I’m already alone. My bro and his family already left after lunch.
One of my favorite things… is my iPhone. I can check out my mails, Facebook account, play games, listen to music and lots more without having to open my desktop or laptop.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m looking forward to attend the house-warming of a friend, despedida party of a former hs classmate, shopping at the mall and visiting my cousin who just gave birth to a baby girl.

Why Would a Mother Kill her 2 Children?

I was hoppin’ around the web when I found this very disturbing news and video about a mother who killed 2 children and confessing it when she called 911. Why would a mother can do such? It’s pretty awful and heartbreaking that she has done that.

It appears that she killed her 2 kids by struggling them with a wire and she did this because they are AUSTISTIC. She attempted to have them drink a bathroom cleaner but they didn’t want to take it so she got the wire. Oh my Lord, I could juts imagine the agony and the helplessness of her own children. I think she is not in her own mind when she did it. Oh dear, she has committed a big mistake!

Spring Cleaning & Organizing Tips to Get Your Home in Shape

As the kids take a break from school, parents can use this opportunity as they take a break too from their busy schedule, to do a major spring-cleaning. Most consider this as a very daunting task, but Spring Cleaning can be broken down to smaller tasks to make it simpler and easier.

As spring sets it, households starts to open up their houses and windows to let the sunshine in and end their hibernation that they have been doing all winter. Spring signifies new life in full color as the flowers start to bloom, butterflies flutter their wings again and more so wouldn’t it be nice to reflect the nature’s beauty into our homes by doing some cleaning and organization?

Here are a few tips to make Spring Cleaning a breeze:

1. Make a Plan. Before you start with the tasks at hand, it would be nice to have a game plan first. Make a list of all the things that you want to accomplish, starting with the most important down to the least priority, to make sure that you will not forget anything. Then based on the list, make a schedule and put it on your calendar so you will stick to it. You don’t have to clean the whole house in just one day so spread the tasks in different days to give yourself a break too.

2. Prepare all the cleaning tools. Make sure that you have all the cleaning tools needed to do the job. Put them together in one area so you don’t have to stop to look for them as you are in the middle of your cleaning. This will eliminate distractions and will allow you to work continuously if you have all the equipments and tools you need to finish the task.

3. Start from the top rooms and work your way to the bottom and tackle one room at a time. Concentrating in one area at a time lets you concentrate and clean the room more effectively. This will also let you finish the chores faster instead of multitasking. Start also with areas that are difficult to clean like the bathrooms so you still have the full energy as you do the difficult tasks. And make sure that you don’t leave the room and move to another one until you are done. Otherwise, you will just be left with a lot of unclean rooms at the end of the day.

4. Do a major cleaning. Big tasks that can be done includes carpet and upholstery cleaning; cleaning of air conditioner, electric fan, lamps, light fixtures, etc; cleaning of kitchen cabinets and other furniture and more. Once you are done doing a deep cleaning then you can just maintain the cleanliness by doing daily or weekly tasks of vacuuming and dusting.

5. Purge. If you haven’t used some items for a long time now, then it means that it is time to let go of it. Who knows, someone might find a good use for it as what they always say, One person’s trash can be another one’s treasure. Start again with one room at a time. Make two piles: Donate / Garage Sale pile and the Trash pile. This exercise will free up some space in your house and gives you an opportunity to share your things to others or earn a little from the proceeds that you are going to get from your garage sale.

6. Organize. Once you are done cleaning and getting rid of things, then it is time to organize the ones that are left. You can sort items by function, by color or whatever will be an easier criterion for you to categorize stuff. Grab some storage boxes from thrift stores to put your things. Label them for easier identification when you need them.

Organizing closets can be included as one of the major tasks in your to-do list. It is time to put those winter clothes and outfits in storage area to make room for the new season outfits. Sort things and group similar items together like socks, blouses, accessories, etc. Try to use color-coding as you arrange your clothes. This will make it look cleaner and nicer and will make it easier also to look for items in your closet.

Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a clean home? With a little planning, patience and organization, you will surely have a home that is soothing to the eyes and conducive to healthy living as well. Spring is here so let us all start with our Spring Cleaning.

Upcoming Concerts of Foreign Artists in Manila 2012

Wow, a lot of foreign singers are having their concerts here in our country this year. From old singers to new one plus band to solo or duet artists, they are coming here. It’s good for our country and the music industry though our local artists can’t help but to be a little sad because shows of foreign artists are flocked and patronized.

Sure we want to patronize and support our very own local artists but we also have the reason to watch shows of foreign singers. Not only they have great music, great stage and sound, but they don’t have shows here all the time so it’s a privileged for our country to be picked by those singers to staged their concerts and shows. Anyway, the 80’s singers like OMD (Orchestral Maneuver's in the Dark) just had their concert last Feb., Blake was also here last March for series of shows and more.

Change Yourself

change
This is very inspirational but bit hard to do actually. There are things about myself that I wanted to change but having hard time to do. I even promise myself to change for the better but nothing really is happening. I guess I should do that step by step and not change myself drastically.

There are times that I feel stuck, sedentary and not growing and these feelings are actually inspiring me to change for the better.

Bitten by the Golf Bug

Lately, my BIL has been boasting about his golf experiences and we're all ears on him. Since I don't know much about that sport, all I can do is to listen to him, laugh at some of his jokes talking about his misses and stuff and of course giving him praises so he'll be more inspired to play. He works like a horse during workdays and he deserves to have a diversion on weekends with his friends and golf buddy.

There’s no doubt that he is bitten by golf and gps watch. He even bought that gps watch that he said can improve his scores and  performance. I hope so.. Anyway, I’m happy for him for he is up and jolly every time he goes out and comes home from his golf “events”” as what my sister said.
