Born Artist

Let me boast for a while here, please. I can say that our family has an inclination towards art. In fact, 2 of my older brothers are visuals artist who also won national painting and photography contests. There's no wonder that their kids also follow their footsteps. Some loves photography, graphic/web designing and the youngest of the pack loves to draw and doodle.

I always see my 7 yr-old niece drawing something on paper. She loves to draw people and recently fashion clothes like dresses and gowns. We've been telling her that who knows maybe one day she'll be a famous designer of her own or designing urban clothing both men and women. I hope that she'll keep her interests until she grows up for we'll be so proud of her.

Just tonight, I gave her some papers where she can draw when she's at our house after dinner. She quickly drew some gowns and of course I praised her works and tell her to draw some more. I even showed her some photos online where she can get some inspirations and she loved that idea.

Weekend Snapshot: Window Shopping

My niece and I dropped by SM to look for something when she grabbed my hand and led me at the toy section. She really wanted me to buy her these Barbie Dolls and Little Mermaid but i told her it is not the time to buy those things and just told her if she is good she might get it on Christmas. Fortunately she didn't cry and she just enjoyed looking at them. Good thing is that I have my cam and I told her that i'll take pic of her with the toys.

Is This Your Baby Aunt Jen?

Every night, after dinner time, it's already my routine to go to my brother's house which is beside our house (duplex) not just to play around with our cute dog Sophie but to play with my niece Reign as well.

Knowing Reign to be so talkative and curious, I didn't marvel anymore when one night when she was about 4 or 5 at that time she asked me this:
Reign: "Is This Your Baby Aunt Jen?" (putting her head and hands on my stomach)
I laughed so loud that I replied
Me: Why do you say so?
Reign: "Look, your tummy is big and for sure you have a baby inside but where is your husband and when is your baby coming out?"
Laughing hard, I told her that I am not pregnant and what she saw is just a big tummy full of fats.. LOL !! Up to this day, she still insists that I have a baby and she even suggested names.
