Capturing Memories Through Photography

I love photos and if my memory serves me right, when I was still in highschool which was over 2 decades ago, my love for taking pictures started it all. During that time, film was still in use and you still need to scroll a button to take another picture.

Cameras and photography has evolved since and right now I have my own DLSR and point & shoot camera to take photos. If I have lots of time, I just grab my camera and take photos of things that interest me. Digital photography is a hobby that I enjoyed though I’m just novice and still learning. If given the time, I also wanted to enroll myself in a photography class. Some of my works are printed in a photobook that I can show them to family and friends.

I always admire photographers who have good eye on things and can convert simple objects to a beautiful photo. David Proett, a wedding photographer Richmond area is a good inspiration as he can capture memories for all types of occasions and events. Check out some sample photos at his site and be inspired.

WW: Insect Hunting

PROJECT 365: PROJECT 365: Insect Hunting

What a gloomy day.. looks like it's going to rain. Saw my brother up on our garage's roof catching some insects. Why?

Like I told you before his son is taking macro shot of insects for his thesis in his photography class in UST. Don't you worry some of the insects are sent back to nature after being photographed.

Today's Flower: Orchids

Project 365: Bloomin' Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

My sister in law is so happy to see her orchids blooming already. She's got this violet color and she's got the peach one too with a different variety. I am not a fan of flower photography but this one took my attention so I took a snap of it cuz it looks so healthy. Just today my SIL took some of the flowers and put it in her mini-altar.

Litratong Pinoy: Proteksyon (Protection) FERN-C

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Bawal Magkasakit !!!

No one is allowed to get sick!! Especially these days when the deadly A(H1N1) virus is still spreading. One of the best ways to fight ailments is by drinking Vit. C like this FERN-C that can't be bought in the drugstore, it is only sold through dealers. My nephew and niece are drinking this and it helps them. Join us at LITRATONG PINOY

Litratong Pinoy: Basa (Wet)

It rained so hard again last Tuesday and here is the outcome, wet gates with still rain waters. We are glad that it didn't flood during the heavy rains. Did it ever flood in your place?

Can We Really Be Safe?

My entry for LITRATONG PINOY- Kandado

Sensya na d ko na translate sa Tagalog ang entry ko. My other Entry at my other blog.

These days we can't help but to take extra precautions on safeguarding our belongings and properties. I clearly remember many years ago how our house was almost ransacked by some burglars. They forced their entry on our house leaving our door knobs wrecked and messy. Fortunately no one is at home at that time.

There's also an instance when one afternoon i think it was in 2006, my instinct somewhat told to go home and not long after while I was in my room, I heard a noise inside the backyard. I peeped in my window and to my shock I saw a guy in an orange shirt jumped over our steel gate going at our back door. I was so scared that time because he was forcing our door by stepping on it real hard. That is the only time I screamed ... " Burglar!! Burglar !! and I am glad that he didn't gain entry or else he might have killed me or whatever..

I saw him run fast and left his left rubber slippers. Unfortunately I didn't see his face. None of my neighbors heard my scream that time and gosh for sure if he got inside the house with me in it, I know no one can save me even if I yell. After that I was shaking and called a neighbor over the phone so she can check on me. This I will not forget and I hope I will not experience this anymore.

To this day, we had installed much higher steel gates and put more extra KANDADO (LOCKS) in the gates hoping it will give extra protection but I guess no matter how many locks we put, burglars will really find a way to gain entry. Hmmmppp... Can we really be safe?

WW: Gotcha!

Weekend Snapshot: Window Shopping

My niece and I dropped by SM to look for something when she grabbed my hand and led me at the toy section. She really wanted me to buy her these Barbie Dolls and Little Mermaid but i told her it is not the time to buy those things and just told her if she is good she might get it on Christmas. Fortunately she didn't cry and she just enjoyed looking at them. Good thing is that I have my cam and I told her that i'll take pic of her with the toys.

This is the Buko/Fruit salad that I always make if there is an occasion here You know what?  Pinoys love making  fruit salad as our dessert and I think it is somewhat impossible not to have this on any occasions. It is made out of fruits, condensed milk, all purpose cream and more. Just in case you want to learn how to make this, here is the recipe of my BUKO/FRUIT SALAD .

You don't need to be a scrapper to have a photobook bec. they have pre-designed kits there, you just need to add your photos. ARTSCOW also have other services like photo printing and more.
