Connecting Everyone All in One Place

These, many people have been using the Internet to do almost anything. From the simple reading of e-mails to online banking, the Internet has become part of our lives already. Every morning, while I’m having my warm mug of chocolate or my fave ginger tea, I always read my mails on my phone and that became a habit already. Later on, I’ll transfer to my desktop to continue checking my mails and my social networking site accounts. I’ll do all of them before I start to work.

It’s also amazing to see long lost friends and relatives and re-connect with them through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I’m sure you have already tried searching for a friend, former classmates or relatives on Facebook just like what I did before. I have found some while others seem to be out of reach.

With all the social networking accounts that we have, I guess some people have a hard time jumping from one site to another to check all them. I just found that MyLife.com, can connect all our social networks, blogging sites and online email accounts all in one place. It’s also a good place to find other people that you wanted to have a connection again. Furthermore, you can also see people who’ve been searching for you as well.

I guess with all the innovation on the way people connect and find each other, more people will be re-connected and much faster and easier now.

When your Computer Gives Up on You

brokenpc

Have you experienced when you are in a hurry to do something on your computer when all of a sudden it slows down, restarts on its own, can't save your work or just totally messed up? Arghhh.. it can be frustrating! I experienced that when I was still using assembled Pentium 4 pc few years back. Funny thing is, I was so annoyed and frustrated because I can't open multiple applications at the same time because its memory is just way too slow. Viruses often attack my computer too because I don't have a good antivirus at that time too.

Thankfully, after saving I was able to buy myself an HP desktop and a Dell laptop that I used alternately. It's been many years now since I bought then and it has never given me any major headache. I wish to have an iMac but major savings is needed hehe. I can also open multiple programs/applications and even numerous tabs on my internet tabs without hassle.

With the new computers that I have, I learned how to be careful when downloading stuff so that no visrus or malware can enter my computer. I also learned  how to clean hard drive by deleting unwanted programs and files that can also slow down my computer. I also learned how to reformat computers just by watching a tutorial in Youtube and with that skill that I learned I don;t need to call our technician to do the reformatting of our net cafe computers.

I just wished that all of my computers will serve me more years because I've been taking care of them with lotsa love.

Of Batteries and Charges

I’m not really quite sure if I need to drain all the way the battery of my iPhone and my digital camera before charging them. I’ve searched online and found conflicting results so I just drain them before charging eventhough I have a bad experience with my laptop battery before. I drain the battery and charge it afterwards but too bad, I left it still on the socket and I guess I might have over charged it that’s why it only lasted for a year.

There are also lots of batteries like ls 14250 that are designed for longer use at up to 20 years. Ahhh.. wished I have used one of these lithium batteries before that I might have saved money also.

Balancing our Online Life

A good read that I have today is about beating information addiction. We all know that almost all people are online 24/7 now. I have seen quite a lot of people who can’t imagine their lives without the internet or without their computers and mobile phones. It’s really a digital age now as we can already do almost all things online without getting out of our house. From simple paying bills, to transferring funds thought online banking, online shopping, you can even do your grocery online too if you have no time. Life has changed so much these days.

We check our mails and other messages upon waking up in the morning and I’m guilty of that. While having my breakfast, my phone is with me already while I check my online stuff.  Yay, I’ve been beaten by the online bug hehe and I’m sure I’m not alone.

I think we need to slow down few hours everyday so we can focus on other things aside form our online world. I’m also afraid that a lot of kids  are drawn to too much online games that sometimes they neglect their studies already. They don’t even know how to play games outside of their home. If technology has so many advantages it also has disadvantages that goes along with it so we need to balance our life.

Managing Files the Safest Way

Ensuring complete privacy of your computer files can be tough, and we all know there are documents we do not want other people seeing, whether they are for legal matters or for other situations.

Whether you are concerned about keeping your computer files safe, faxing important documents, or guaranteeing privacy when uploading them on the Internet, here are a few tips to help you out.

Creating Back-up for Your Computer Files

Even if you have your own personal computer, your files may not be completely safe. Every time you leave your computer unattended, it gives someone else a chance to browse through your files. Even if you have your computer password-protected, if your computer crashes, you may never be able to retrieve your files.

That is why it is always a good idea to create a backup. While your computer, can crash and CD's can scratch, you may want to use a flash drive when trying to keep your files private. A flash drive can easily be kept in your pocket so no one has access to it, and you can even password-protect it.

Managing Your Faxes

Many people have discovered that sending a fax to a regular fax machine, or even receiving one, is not a very reliable way to keep your files private, as you never know who will be on the receiving end.

Online faxing is becoming an increasingly popular way to send faxes, as all documents are password protected. Online faxing with Metrofax or with other high-rated and affordable sites is a great way to send your personal documents.

Uploading Files on the Internet

When you upload files to the internet, you always want to make sure that the site you are uploading to is secure. Generally, a site that begins with ‘https’ opposed to ‘http’ in your address bar is a secure site, but you cannot always use that to ensure that your files won't be found.

Read a variety of reviews to see if anyone else has had problems with that particular site. You should also carefully read through the website's terms of service to make sure that they have no rights to your files after you have uploaded them.

If you trust the site, you can even use this as a way to save your files as a backup since it will generally be password protected and you can reach your files anywhere with an Internet connection.

HP Brand Lover

Aside from blogging, I’m also into digital designing. Been designing since 2007 and I’m loving it. Just last August 2011, I bought a new HP desktop for I want a bigger screen when I’m designing my digital scrapbooking kit. My laptop’s screen and speed can’t keep up with my designing needs so I decided to get a new desktop that I can use here at home.

I love HP brand so I bought the same brand in GH. Luckily, it was on sale and along with that I got a free speaker and HP printer. I must say that HP products are durable and performs well. Been using the printer since August and I’m quite surprised that it still has a toner up to now. When the time comes the ink will run out, I know I will get an original toner cartridges to maintain the performance of my printer. With the looks of it, I guess the printer is toner saver and I got my money’s worth already.

Best Web Hosting Services Right at Your Fingertips

I’ve been online for the last 10 years now and I have to say that I have learned a lot, gained friends, shared some of my thoughts, experiences and thoughts through my blogs. It has given me so many advantages in knowing about certain products, other people’s blogs, great resource websites. I started my 1st blog in 2005 and it was on free blog hosting from bravejournal. I then made blogs using blogspot and then wordpress. My blogging really evolved and realized that getting my own domain is the best way to go too.

Before I ventured on getting my own domain, I read reviews, ask my friends for advice and even read tutorials online. Thanks to sites that offers web site hosting reviews for it was very helpful for me in choosing my webhost. I’ve been using Blue Host for a while now on this blog and I’m happy with their services.

If you are thinking of getting your own domain and web host, try to read reviews first so you can compare services of web host providers.

Organizing Wires

These days, more and more people have been enjoying their computers or laptops for their personal or business use. Networking one computer to another most often than not involves countless wires and cables. We may experience wires looping on each other and it's also unsightly to see at some point. Though there are now computers going wireless in their connectivity, wires are still visible and I reckon we'll be using them for many years more.

We can hide those wires under our carpet or but thanks to wire duct that can make our wires organized when we set it up on our homes or offices. Managing our wires are now much easier and I can say more pleasing to see.

Scary Identity Theft

I guess it's not new to you that your identity can now be stolen. It's pretty scary to know that identity can really happen especially these days when technology is on its surge. Credit cards can now be stolen and used, your paypal account can be hacked, your social networking account, sites or blogs can be accessed by internet hackers and more. Poor thing, we come to an age where technology is used in bad ways by crooks.

I had an interesting read a while ago and it's about those Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) that are used and put on ID's, credit cards, passports and other places to transmit different data. It can speed up transactions but the bad thing is that your data or identity can be stolen when some crook people or hackers try to make a rfid readers to get all your data. Wow, that is pretty scary and it's really happening.

Since those things are happening already, rfid blocking wallets are invented to prevent those readers to read your data in your passports, credit cards etc. thus preventing identity theft. I hope more ways will be invented to stop those hackers from invading our privacy.

I Want a New Phone

With all the latest phones that are coming out in the market every now and then, it makes me even more puzzled what to buy soon to replace my "jurassic" Nokia Phone that I'm using for over 3 years now. Blackberry, iPhone and this HTC Desire Z are just so tempting to buy. I'm even reading htc desire reviews online to help me decide.

I reckon I have to know what  features in a phone that I need and will use over and over again . Aside from that, I have to consider its affordability and the one that will fit my budget then that's the time I can buy a replacement. Oh boy, now I'm torn.

Custom Laptop for Studies

My niece who's currently in college has long been wishing for a custom laptop so that she can bring it to school and anywhere where she has shoots. They have a desktop at home but since the processor and the memory needs an upgrade, she can't work fast. She's also been using my desktop but there are times that I get angry for there are programs that they accidentally removed. I also gave her an external hardrive as an early Christmas gift where she can put her files but she body needs the laptop.

I'm wishing that her parents can have an extra budget for that laptop so she can work with ease.

Service Providers and the Best Cell Phone Plans

I think it is an indisputable fact that our cell phones are the most important gadget in modern day life. Cell phones are more than simply a way to call someone — they are tiny computers with an amazing capacity for efficiency. Whatever would we do without a mobile phone, one that keeps track of our schedule, allows us to read and respond to emails remotely, has GPS and can provide directions, shows us the weather, and allows us to capture photos and video?

For these reasons, it's imperative to make sure you find one of the best cell phone plans that is right for the job. And since cell phone plans can get expensive (not to mention buying the cell phone itself), one way to watch your budget is to find the most cost effective plan that works for you. Finding the best provider is the first step.

Comparing Cell Service Providers
Verizon Wireless has a good name in the industry as one of the best mobile service providers in terms of quality, data speed, and reception. On the other hand Verizon's customer service seems to fall short, especially when taking into consideration the higher rates (compared with other providers).

Meanwhile, T-Mobile is known for offering lower priced plans and comes in second in terms of data speed, customer service, and technical support. Quality of reception varies from region to region throughout the United States. T-Mobile also offers more plans, including attractive no-contract plans for those sick of being locked in. If you want a more affordable phone, however, you'll need to sign a two-year contract.

In the Midwest, U.S. Cellular is the strongest regional carrier. AT&T and Sprint are both in the same category in terms of quality and service. In fact, according to a PC Magazine survey, Sprint took last place in all categories except in terms of reliability tests.

Web Hosting Solutions

I started blogging way back in January of 2005, so I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years now. My very first blog was at a free-hosted blog (bravejournal) and it’s still very much active up to this date. I still remember the day I published my very first post and how excited I was to have made an online journal. Not long after, I created another one at blogspot but later on I was able to redirect it to my own domain name. I became more excited in creating more blogs with different niches and how I was able to upgrade my skills in redirecting domain names. I was quite surprised that I’m already maintaining lots of blogs right now where some of it are self-hosted. I was even happier because I can monetize them since 2007.

Looking for a webhosting company for some of my blogs was a bit daunting since I don’t know much about it in the first place. Thanks to the internet because I was able to read some webhost reviews and that aided me in choosing that host that will fit my budget and hosting needs.

If you intend on creating a site of your own and looking for webhost for your small to medium scale businesses and even for personal sites, then I suggest you to browse online and peruse different hosting packages. Ask your friends that also host to help you out.
