A Mother's Love

My bestfriend since highschool days is a dedicated mom to her 3 children. She will do anything to protect, train, support them on the things that they want to do as long as it is for their own good. A mom, wife and a career woman is not an easy job. Imagine juggling all those roles everyday for the rest of her life is a noble thing.

I see her kids grow and my friend is supportive in their studies and even on their extra curricular activities like playing musical instruments. Her son is even spoiled (in a good way) when it comes to music. She lets him play musical instrument and will do anything even if it means that she will buy used martin guitars online to support her son's hobby.

As long as they will do good in school, their hobby and other interests will be supported by their mom. I just admire her for being with her children when they need her and it only shows that a mother's love is priceless.

Finally... my blog is back!

Oh yes! After so many months of being offline .. this blog is back and hopefully it will stay for long.

A friend of mine is hosting this blog for years now but decided she no longer can accommodate my blog so she had to give it up. Being busy and all, I wasn't able to take care of this blog for so long that it was offline for long period of time. I don;t want to give up this blog yet so I decided to  renew the domain and look for someone to host it again and thankfully, Ruby was there to help me.

Now... I am back! eventhough the post from 2013-2015 was gone.. huhuhu... maybe may backup file was no good.

Limiting Online Times

Oh dear, I’m so.. so.. so.. guilty of this! In the morning and after having my breakfast and that is usually around 8:00am already, I pick up my phone and immediately check my Instagram (not my mail) account. That usually take me around 15-30 mins. depending on how many comments I have to reply on certain photos that I’ve posted.

After checking my phone, I’ll switch to my desktop to check my email, facebook and other online accounts and also of course my work accounts. It will take about an hour or more. Then I’ll prepare the things that I will cook for lunch and I go back online.

Around 11 am, I will cook and in between I will go online until evening doing works, browsing, online window-shopping and also some digi scrapping if I have the mojo for that. Practically, online works keeps me busy and occupies my time that I noticed that I’m not taking my dog out for walk in more than a week already.. bad bad bad!

I read an article about prioritizing things and minimizing online times as much as possible. I can say that I miss getting out but when I think of going out it means shelling out money and that I don’t want to do at the moment.. yay!

Anyway, I will try to limit my online times but how can I do that if my work requires me to be online 24/7? Oh I guess I need another vacation where I don’t need to bring my work.

When Life Becomes a Routine

Have you found yourself got bored because you feel like your life is a routine already? Are you doing the same thing each day?

You get up each morning, sometimes you even drag yourself out of your bed because you have a 9-5 job, you got stuck in a traffic then when you reach the office late  your "monster" boss is waiting for you and gave you tons of work. After work you go home and that routine can happen to you all the time each week.

For those who work at home, you have your own time to work but rarely go out to socialize. All work and no "play".

SAHM/WAHM - Being a mom is a 24/7 job and I'm sure it's also tough when you're a work-at-home mom who juggles work and family life at the same.

Life can be a routine  and like many of you, I also get bored with what I'm doing sometimes so I break that routine by doing other stuff like trying on a new hobby, shopping, talking to friends/relatives, play with my dog, watch a movie or whatever.

Random Thoughts on Weekend

I woke up with an aching left waist that is radiating from waist down and to my left shoulders or arm. It's not that painful though but it feels like heavy and I'm uncomfortable. I'll just put some liniment on it and hope it will be gone tonight. I'm also a little bit worried about some family issues but I know it will be solved. Like they say we need to have a lot of faith and God will take care of it. I'm just a little worried just like everyone in the family, we're always over reacting to some things that we don't have so much control over it. We sweat small stuff too and I know its not healthy and good. Anyway, I know it will be solved anyway.

I run some errands this morning and it's also good for me for I get to spend some time outside the house. Bought some medicines and hahaha.. 2 blouses at a store as I just can't resist the colors and style of the blouses. Went home, walked Sophie and cooked our lunch. Sometimes my life can be so boring and routine so I wish that I can go out a lot of time or maybe take another vacation.

My cousin and her husband from the US are coming before the month ends and I'll be their tour guide for 3 days. I hope I can be very helpful to them. She booked a tour at Tagaytay and there will be horseback riding. I'm sure it will be fun! Ahhh I just can't wait so I can relax at well.

Attending a Prom Night

Poor thing, I never get to experience Prom Night where highschool seniors dress up well for the occasion. Usually girls will wear gowns while boys in their tux or formal attire. During our time, our school didn't allow such event to happen for they believe it was just a waste of money or something not all parents will approve of because of the money that they will give to their children to buy gown and for the make-up artist. We didn't even have a highschool year album. arghhh..Those are something that our batch missed and regret of not having.

These days, there are many schools that are having prom nights and it is much awaited by all the seniors to attend before they graduate. Before the event the seniors are busy looking for the best dress that they can wear not just to make them look good but also to impress their other batchmates. It's pretty easy now to look for prom dresses, even girls on the plus size can find plus size prom dresses under $200 online.

Some of my nieces and nephews have experience going in a prom night and they had the best time ever especially when they learned who is the Prom Queen and King.

Typhoon Ondoy's 3rd Anniversary

September 26, 2009, how can we Pinoys forget Typhoon Ondoy? For many of us, it's a day where many lives have never been the same again.

Actually, we are not that much affected because the floods where just on our garage but only an inch away it will enter our house already. I'll never forget the experience of walking with my niece on thigh-high floods where tree logs are rushing while we are trying to reach our home. We're suppose to go to our internet shop but floods went up so quickly that we need to go back. Our vehicle can't pass anymore so we decided to walk.  The water just went up crazy!

Anyway, many have died and properties lost. I'm praying that no more typhoon or even habagat in that magnitude will ever happen again.!!

Super Moms

supermom2 supermom

I had some time to blog hop the other day and I can't help myself to be in admiration to all the moms that I came across. I have a lot of friends that are moms already and just thinking all the sacrifices that they have done for the family makes me realize that being a mother or a parent is a 24/7 job and needs a complete commitment. I also admire working moms both wahm or those that work outside their homes because they can juggle their work and family obligations.

A friend of mine is working 9-5 and when she gets at home, she still need to take care of the kids and do household works. Aside from that, she still needs to work on her online jobs that can take her working till midnight. She's been sacrificing a lot just to give good and comfortable life to her family. With that, I salute you all great moms out there.

Awww.. Another Blogger's Block ?

blogger's block

Blogging can be a lot of fun most especially when your thoughts are overflowing and your fingers are not yet tired clicking all the letters in your keyboard. But when blogger's block hit you, know for sure you'll be lost for words. For those bloggers with deep well of thoughts/ideas and steel fingers they will not be bothered about this.

Blogger's block.. ahhhhh.. .it happens to me at times. You know there are occasions when I have to write about my assignment or I simply want to post about an event or experience but  I can't put them into sentence. It's like I'm having a brain freeze..lol Arghhh.. that is frustrating!

I just envy those bloggers who can quickly make a post in a swift as if the words are just in their fingertips. Bloggers who have so much great ideas, have myriad collection of collective and informative thoughts/experiences that are shared without hesitation always get my attention and praise. Ahhh.. they are genius!

As you already know, I have quite few blogs under my wings since I started blogging in 2005. I have to say that it was not easy maintaining and updating all of them. There are times that I feel burned out blogging and just thinking what to write or share for that particular blog already makes me tired at times. But hey, even though at times I whine and make drama over my blogging career, I'm still here, alive and kickin.

If blogger's block arises, here are the things that helps me bounce back to writing:
1. I make a list of what I want to write
2. I blog hop to get fresh ideas
3. Read feeds at my Google reader
4. Talk to my friends at Twitter and FB
5. Think about the moolah coming if I've done all my online works
6. Stay away from my computer or I simply rest because I might be exhausted or just lazy hehe.
7. Think about shopping ..lol so it can excite me.. just kidding

Ahhh.. I hope blogger's block won't visit me soon! What about you have you experienced blogger's block and what do you do to combat it?

Social Networking Sites and Me

I'm pretty sure that you already have lots of different accounts on various social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn and lots more. I remember my very first account is on Friendster few years back and I'm not sure if anyone is still using the site to socialize as I have deleted my account there for few years now. A friend of mine is encouraging me to Facebook when it started or became a hit but I declined. At first, I thought it was just a waste of time looking at someone else's account, pictures or whatever..lol.. I was never really interested, haha.. arte ko pa non..lol

I always see my SIL open her account and showed me some pictures if her friends and families and would you believe that one of my cousin is her friend already. After seeing pictures of my cousin whom I have not seen in many many years in Facebook that's the only time that I decided to create an account at Facebook. So it was on only February 8, 2010 when I joined Facebook. A late bloomer huh.. hehe..

After creating an account I was able to reconnect to my relatives in the US and some parts of the world. I even found my long lost friends way back in college. Groups and Forums are very helpful as well, not only I get to interact with friends and relatives, I  also met new friends and bloggers. I also have twitter account where I can interact with my friends and sister. It's a venue for me to rant sometimes.

Now, I'm very thankful for social networking sites for it reconnected me to my friends and relatives. Even if I have an account at Facebook, twitter, Instagram, it doesn't mean that I will just add anyone in my account. I only add friends or people that I know.. (pili pa nga eh ), you know..

How about you, how has social networking changed your life?

Today........

Outside my window…the rain stopped already but for sure in a while it will rain again.

I am thankful for… the busy weekend that I have with family and cousins

From the kitchen… I cooked ground pork with potatoes and peas and the rice is almost done too.

I am wearing… my comfortable duster

I am creating… lots of blog posts today

I am going…stay a little bit late today so I can finish lots of online tasks. I have no time last weekend because I toured my cousin in our area.

I am hoping… that my nephew will do good in his studies and in basketball now that he decided to study here.

I am hearing… the sound of the frogs singing in the rain hehe

Around the house…it’s quite silent because it’s just me and my dog.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I don’t have any plans yet but I’m definitely checking out the daily jewelry deals online.

Strengthen Family Ties

I grew up with a strong family ties and I’m so happy about it. I guess we all aim to have a happy family where there is love, respect and support for each other. Sure there are times when there is misunderstanding or arguments but those are really normal for every family. Each member should be open for reconciliation because at the end of the day you’re still a family that will help each other in times of trouble.

As a family, you need to learn how to bond with each other. Here are some few things to strengthen family ties.
1. Spend more quality time with each other. Read books together, sing, laugh and talk to each other.
2. Create memories. Make a project together. Draw, make clay pots or anything that can keep you all bonded.
3. Eat together at the same time so you can catch up on each other’s activities.
4. Watch movies, shop etc.
5. Travel as a family and you’ll see the beauty of the place more and you’ll create more beautiful happy memories.

We should also learn to forgive each other’s misgivings. Teach your kids good values so when they grow up they will do the right things that you teach them.

Having Too Many Kids

I’ve been hearing lots of stories about poor couples living in slums and yet they have 6, 7, 8, 9 or even 12 kids !! Oh my goodness me, how can a couple raise their big family when they only have exact amount of money to buy foods in a day? Oh dear, I’m sad and disturbed as well to think that these days, raising a small family with 2 kids is already hard how much more if you have 12 mouths to feed?

It will not end there, when they grow up, how can you support their education? Even if we have government schools where there is no tuition fee, parents should still need to give them money for snacks and for their projects. With that kind of situation, kids are left at the house or worst in the streets to beg or steal. Some parents ask their children to get used plastics and cartons to sell. There are many families all over the country who are experiencing such misfortune.

I hope parents should be responsible enough. If they can’t afford to have a big family then don’t have too many kids because the children are very much affected. They really need to know about family planning. Just my two cents …

4. Looking forward to the wedding of a friend soon and it's nice to be browsing for Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses online.
5. My cellphone SIM is working once again after cleaning it with an eraser.
6. Mom feeling ok once again after hitting 180/60 last week on our trip

The Sound of Water

It’s only almost lunch time but I feel a bit tired already. I have not done any hard work but my legs are somewhat tired, feels like I have walked for miles already. Hmmm.. what’s happening to me lately? I’m also getting thinner each day that some of my relatives already noticed. I’m not dieting or something and I’m not sick. Maybe I just need to pump up my eating habits or perhaps do some other mobile activities aside from chasing my lovely dog at the garage while we are playing.

Anyway, right now, I can hear the chirping of the birds outside the house. Our place has lots of trees that’s why birds love to come in our area. It’s relatively peaceful here and it’s away from the noisy and busy city life. I love it here. I’m also wishing to have a water fountain in our house because the sound of the water is also calming and relaxing. Not that I need to relax all the time but I need to do it from time to time just like right this minute when my muscles are like in rally.

Wednesday Happy Thoughts

It’s the 1st Wednesday of the month and I could not be more happier. There’s so much to be thankful for. Little and big things are always great.

1. I’m actually liking my short hair and I’m also thinking of getting a shorter cut again on the weekend. It’s been after 25+ years since I had this cut.
2. I was ecstatic to try on different outfits this morning. I have lots of new shirts and blouses plus a new maong jeans and a bag that I bought over the weekend.
3. A new drawer for my room would be awesome but I still  need to find out that if the local store already had the stock that I wanted. If I have it this month, an audio rack is my next home project.
4. Went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned.

Things to Accomplish

Ahhh.. May is passing by so quickly and before we know it it's June already. wow. I have many things to accomplish this May or the next few months in the house and I'm wishing it'll all be done. I usually jot down some of my thoughts and things to do so I will not forget and I'm sharing them here.

1. I initially planned of buying a new table where where I can put my desktop but thinking about the money that I will spend, I just decided that I will ask my brother to fix it and put any lag screw or nails if it needed.
2. Get back to exercise routine. I love biking and badminton but unfortunately I stopped doing them when things become so busy in here.
3. Organize my closet and purge some old things

Random Friday Thoughts

Geez it's Friday today and few more days it's May already. Time flies so fast and it looks like it's going to be yet another busy month for me.. workwise and I’m looking forward to that. I’m very productive this month as I have done over 6 photobook layouts and have ordered most of them already. I’m also getting inspired to finish some layouts for my new digital scrapbooking kit that I’m hoping to release mid May.

Today, my aunt and uncle came home all the way from California for they are building a house in the province where they can retire in few years time I guess. They visited us this morning and of course they gave us lots of gifts that they bright home. Though there are no alec bradley cigars for the guys, they brought Nike shoes/socks, a Coach wristlet for me (yey!), some canned goods, chocolates and lots more.

I’m looking forward on weekend for I’ll be meeting my former highschool classmates once again. I know that it will be another fun-filled night for all of us. Can’t wait to watch American Idol too and see who’ll be voted off now. Crossing my fingers that it will be Josh who’ll be send home.

Driving on her Own

I’m just so happy and thrilled to know that my niece is driving already. She’s already 17 and turning 18 this July and her parents bought her a car. Of course, she had driving lessons first for it’s very strict in Australia before she can even get her learners or new driver’s license she still needs to take the exams. Right now, I think she’s a P-plater and she can drive on her own though there are times when her parents need to be with when she drives for more support, advice and instructions. I guess you know how 1st-time drivers are on the road.

Now that she has her own car, I hope she’ll be more responsible in taking care of it and of course she needs to be careful while on the road. Owning a car comes with a responsibility and I’m sure her parents also got her car insurance for her protection. Actually, getting a car insurance is quite fast these days. You can even a quote in less than 2 mins if you're in the US using AutoInsuranceNC.org website.

With her ability to drive now, her parents will be spared from sending and fetching her to and from her dance rehearsals and part-time work. I just hope she’ll not break the trust that her parents gave her.
