Oh my goodness… how can you resist these desserts?
Aren’t they so tempting to eat?

I just had my dinner and now I’m craving for some sweet. Nothing in my fridge tonight but I hope I can taste these chocolate covered strawberries and cherries from Sharis Berries soon that I heard from an online friend.

Actually, I think they are also perfect as gifts for birthdays or any occasion. My sister got a sweet tooth and there’s no doubt that she’ll love this. She can also eat strawberries with style.

Popular Greek Food Dishes

Do you like to try foreign foods, but you're not sure that you can follow the recipes or find the foods? You might be surprised to find out that most of the time they aren't as hard as you thought. For example, authentic Greek food uses much of the same meats and vegetables as American or other ethnic food types. These meats include pork, lamb, and fish.

Fishing is still the one of the main Greek occupations, even in modern Greece, so fish dishes are very common. Greek fish dishes make use of many different types of fish. The types that are used in Greek food maycome from species that you are unfamiliar with, such as bream or porgies. Other dishes use shellfish such as shrimp, lobster, and even calamari (in Greek, it's Kalamaris or Kalamarakia).

Vegetable dishes include such healthy items as eggplant (the main ingredient in moussaka or vegetable lasagna), zucchini, and cabbage (for stuffed cabbage leaves). Tomatoes are also used in many recipes, including Greek stuffed tomatoes.

Many of the more common foods, such as vegetable, pork, and lamb dishes, can be found in most supermarkets. Further, the dishes use such familiar cuts such as chops or kebobs, so you probably won't even have to ask for a special cut unless you like meat pieces a little thicker or thinner. The fish items may have to be purchased at a fish market or other specialty store. If you happen to live in an area that sports a Greek market, you can always find them there.

If you want to see pictures of Greek dishes as well as others, go to foodily.com. It has different types of food pictures as well as the recipes to help you create your Greek food experience from home!

My Sweet Cravings

My brother is always telling me that I'm kuripot (penny pincher) even to myself sometimes . He told me that if I work so hard I should treat myself or indulge in something that I want once in a while. Well, I've rewarded myself with some material things lately and I'm happy about it. When it comes to food I'm not into it so much, maybe that's why I also don't need to find any fat burners that work because there's not much to burn anyway..lol

Seriously, I've never been adventurous when it comes to food. I don't go on food trips just to try different meals or cuisines and that's what  I envy about others. There are those who likes food so much and even love to dine  all  resto to taste other menus.

Anyway, just satisfied my sweet cravings last Sunday by buying a whole cake of Black Forest from Red Ribbon. Would you believe that I still have a slice left in the fridge that I can munch again tomorrow? Yum!

Care to Share Easy Dinner Ideas?

Dinner time is almost here once again and right now, I still don’t know what to cook for my family. I still have the left over food from lunch time but I don’t feel like eating it once again tonight. I guess you can relate with my small problem right now, there are times when you are just so baffled on what to serve for your family most especially if you have kids. It’s never too easy to think and prepare meals on the daily basis and as much as you wanted to come up with delicious recipes each time, you may fall short.

I’ve been scouring the net for possible quick and Easy Dinner Ideas that I can add to my small collection of recipes right now. What I’m looking for is for a dish to be simple, delicious and still healthy. I’m not into complicated dishes right now since I can be very busy with my work most of the times. My family is not into much of the processed foods or fast foods, they are just fattening and of course not that healthy.

My mom also is not into meat these days because of her high blood pressure and cholesterol, as much as possible; I need to cook healthy foods for her. Veggies and fish are the best for her.

While browsing online, fortunately I saw recipes that only require about 30 mins. of cooking time and I guess I have to try them in my future cooking. I also need to try some new dishes and will see if it’s worth cooking again and again. Being stuck with same dishes over and over again for many years can be sickening, our taste buds already know what it tastes that why there are times we end up not eating or not liking it at all. It’s also disheartening when your family tells you that “oh no, not again!” when they saw the same dish again..lol

Ok..I’m going to raid my fridge now and see what will I cook later.

My Sweet Cravings

I guess if you've been to my other blogs, you'd see some photos and posts of my sweet cravings. Been craving for cakes and finally I gave in yesterday. I bought a small choco marjolaine cake from Red Ribbon and it finally ceased my cake cravings. Hmmm it's was so yummy! I had it for meryenda (snack) in the afternoon and I saved couple of slices so I can still have some more till tomorrow.

I'm so glad that I don;t need any best diet pills at the moment eventhough I can see my belly fats bulging once again. I know I deserve to splurge on sweets sometimes but not too much of course.

They Love It!

So I found myself holding cooking utensils lately. Hmmmm and that is good. Ever since I changed my working schedule at home I was able to cook dishes for our lunch almost everyday. It's a good sign actually because I can cook and eat what I crave for.

I've been getting and printing recipes online and have tried some of them and fortunately it was all good.  This means that we are going to eat sumptuous meals each day, I hope we don't need any fat burner anytime soon.

I'm leaning towards cooking dishes with sauces. I cooked beef with broccoli yesterday and today I cooked sweet and sour chicken and my family just loved it. My bro even told me that is delicious and I need to to cook it again in the future. Ahhh nice to hear those words. I hope they will not blame me if they get fat from eating too much hehe.

What to Cook?

Yay, it's almost lunchtime once again and I'm lost what to cook that will eventually  be our dinner as well.

Now I know how it feels when my mom whine on what she will cook for the meal. It's never easy to think a meal that we'll not get tired of eating. I sometimes scour recipe blogs on net or youtube for possible idea. I guess i need to see what's in the freezer and chiller today so I can think what to cook.

I'm getting hungry now so I better get moving.

PROJECT 365: Baked Spareribs in Honey sauce Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I always crave for this recipe after my sis Joy cooked this at their house one time. To satisy my cravins, I gave money to my sister in law and asked her to cook this for our Sunday lunch and oh boy we are stuffed.

I have posted the recipe HERE. Try this bec. it is delicious!

For The Love of Food

Wow, I just had a late snack and now I am fully stuffed. I had spaghetti and coke and this combination is already a heavy meal. I even told my mom not to cook dinner for me anymore because I don’t think I can still eat and that only shows how stuff I am right now. I have had one of these days when I somewhat over eat that often results in dyspepsia. Too bad my stomach is not big enough to accommodate lots of food.

I wish I am like my online friend Tere who enjoys dining out with her husband. She said that they eat as often as they can when their budget allows them to try out new foods and new restaurants. They are really food adventurers dining from one resto to another in buffet style. I got to chat to her one time and she lets me know how much she loves pizza and baby back ribs, which I love too! Ahhh… for sure they will be thrilled to eat and dine at restaurants in San Diego with ocean view for they have Italian cuisine as well. I know they can eat heartily and as long as they desire.
