Social Networking Sites and Me

I'm pretty sure that you already have lots of different accounts on various social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn and lots more. I remember my very first account is on Friendster few years back and I'm not sure if anyone is still using the site to socialize as I have deleted my account there for few years now. A friend of mine is encouraging me to Facebook when it started or became a hit but I declined. At first, I thought it was just a waste of time looking at someone else's account, pictures or whatever..lol.. I was never really interested, haha.. arte ko pa non..lol

I always see my SIL open her account and showed me some pictures if her friends and families and would you believe that one of my cousin is her friend already. After seeing pictures of my cousin whom I have not seen in many many years in Facebook that's the only time that I decided to create an account at Facebook. So it was on only February 8, 2010 when I joined Facebook. A late bloomer huh.. hehe..

After creating an account I was able to reconnect to my relatives in the US and some parts of the world. I even found my long lost friends way back in college. Groups and Forums are very helpful as well, not only I get to interact with friends and relatives, I  also met new friends and bloggers. I also have twitter account where I can interact with my friends and sister. It's a venue for me to rant sometimes.

Now, I'm very thankful for social networking sites for it reconnected me to my friends and relatives. Even if I have an account at Facebook, twitter, Instagram, it doesn't mean that I will just add anyone in my account. I only add friends or people that I know.. (pili pa nga eh ), you know..

How about you, how has social networking changed your life?

Long Live 80's Music

Music is universal and I can never imagine life without it. Life will be boring if there's no sound of music. 80’s is my year and it is when people are hearing real good music with meaning, depth, fun, rebel and all. I was in my teens where Madonna, Michael Jackson,   Cyndi Lauper, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Sheena Eaaston, Wham, A-ha, REO Speedwagon and more are on the peak of their careers.

The new wave sound is the craze back then and I remember I’m always listening and dancing to Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears songs.. Ahhh those are the days… The musical instruments might not be as high-tech as keyboards today but nevertheless the 80’s music is one of the best!

Here are just some of the 80’s songs that we all loved until now! If you’re not familiar with 80’s music, then play this video and you’ll hear some of the greatest hits in the 80’s.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle

Philippines is blessed with beautiful beaches but unfortunately, people is the one making it dirty by throwing or leaving garbage in the area. We need to be responsible enough to take care of our waste not just in beach or tourist spots area but within our homes too.

Now, that we experienced flooding in many areas because storms and even monsoon rains, we need to think twice when we throw our garbage just anywhere because it will practically come back to us in no time.

This is a campaign by :

Footprints Project (philippinebeaches.org) where they envisions the Philippines with a healthy, sustainable and successful tourism enjoyed, promoted, and guarded by a people who are environmentally conscious, friendly, and responsible.

Today........

Outside my window…the rain stopped already but for sure in a while it will rain again.

I am thankful for… the busy weekend that I have with family and cousins

From the kitchen… I cooked ground pork with potatoes and peas and the rice is almost done too.

I am wearing… my comfortable duster

I am creating… lots of blog posts today

I am going…stay a little bit late today so I can finish lots of online tasks. I have no time last weekend because I toured my cousin in our area.

I am hoping… that my nephew will do good in his studies and in basketball now that he decided to study here.

I am hearing… the sound of the frogs singing in the rain hehe

Around the house…it’s quite silent because it’s just me and my dog.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I don’t have any plans yet but I’m definitely checking out the daily jewelry deals online.
