If home remedies are not sufficient, getting the help of the professionals like Houston Pest Control is a good thing to do for they have other techniques or more potent chemical to get rid of them.

Jazz Up Your Homes with Bi Fold Doors

I’ve been living with my mom in our house for many years now that was built 2 decades ago. It was still on its tip-top shape but I guess it also needs a make-over since the style is already outdate. If money will not be an issue, I also want to have it re-painted inside and out and that includes the roofing. I know it will require a substantial amount of money and hard labor but I’m praying that I can have it done before the year ends.

I’ve always dreamed of having my own house someday but I’m not sure if that dream will soon become a reality. My sister already had built their new house in Sydney and I’m so happy for her. It was both her and my BIL’s dream house and I reckon they love every minute staying their with their family.

How’d I wish to have a house like theirs, very spacious and neat. Her husband made it sure to put the best materials and furniture in the house. I can’t wait to see and visit their house when I come there for vacation.bi fold doors

Anyway, whilst going through some inspirations online, I can’t help myself to admire beautiful houses built so neatly. Went through the gallery of Clear Span and these houses with bi fold doors caught my attention as it not only can let the light and air come in generously but also made it more spacious when folded. Perfect when you entertain guests all the time in your home as you can easily open it up on the backyard for your barbeque time and more.

These doors fold in or fold out in the areas where you wanted it to be installed. It can also serve as a divider and can jazz up your homes, making it more functional.

My Home Projects: Re-painting and Installing Travertine Tiles

I’ve been meaning to renovate our house for a while now and it has been such an arduous thought on how I can achieve it before the year ends. I’ve already been making a list on the things that I wanted to be done so I can figure out if the work will be reasonable for my budget and of course if it can be finished all at once before Christmas time.

The first thing that I wanted to be done is the wall re-painting. The colors looked old and chipped, plus the fact that the dirt has embedded so much on the walls that it looks nasty already. I wanted the house to look neat and more welcoming this time. It has been many years now since I had it re-painted so I reckon this is the perfect year to do so. Given that I have also new appliances that I purchased last year and just recently, I reckon it’s pretty thrilling if I can showcase them on my “new” home. This makes me excited.

As I was talking to my mom about this, she approved about it and even suggested that, if I’m going to have our walls re-painted and just leave our old floor tiling, then it may look half undone. That made me think again and it looks like I need to have the complete house re-painted and re-tiled (only the kitchen and living room part) and it only means that more budget and time are needed. Been contemplating about this and it looks reasonable.

The old tiles that we have are just vinyl and you can just imagine how it looks like after over 20 decades of use. There are chipped edges when I inspected them and the beige colors appear horrible now. I wished we had installed a marble or something more durable when we first had it constructed.

Anyway, I have known that there are actually many tiling materials available now at many home depot stores and before I had my house project started, I need to research more. Certainly, I’ll be veering away from vinyl materials and it looks like I have many choices: from marble, limestone and travertine tiles.

They all look the same actually but I guess we’ll be trying out those travertine tiles  that I learned was made of calcium carbonate that was formed thousand of years ago underneath the earth’s surface. These chemicals are formed in water resources, rivers, springs and more. Nature has really given us natural products that we can also use as tiling for our home.

I managed to find Stone Superstore, a store that offers wide range of travertine tiles. Their online catalogue proved to offer wide choices of these tiles in various colors that ranges from ivory, beige, walnut, and more. The different finish and also the pattern of the tiles can also add beauty to the area where I wanted it to be placed.

Now, durable tiling materials are all that I need for our home and I guess I found the right one.

House Maintenance

These past few days, mom is kinda busy checking for the things in the house that needs some repair. Our water pump is not working automatically for the last 5 months but we can still use it by manual mode to pump water in our reservoir (tank). We’ll have it replaced with a more durable one like those commercial pumps once it stops working already.

Aside from that, a technician came to the house to fix our La Germania stove. The other burner is not working for few weeks now and since it’s hard to cook with only 1 burner being used, mom had to call someone to fix it. It’s been years that we’ve been using that stove and due to water and oil spilling, rusts and dirt formed in the burner. Thankfully, the technician only billed us Php500 for the repair.

It’s 32 more days and it’s Christmas already. Are you starting to buy your Christmas presents already? I do, as I hate the Christmas rush where there are more people shopping and cramming to find gifts. If you also shop a little  bit late, chances are the items that you’ll buy is already out of stock, so if I were you, start buying now.

I’m sure the Black Friday sale in the US will also be a good opportunity for shoppers to score a great deal. My twitter friends are getting super excited over the sale as they are shopping as well. I’ll just wait for a friend’s items that she will be selling and hope that I’ll find nice bag (yes.. bag again!).

Aside from that, I planned on replacing our old and about to give up washing machine and electric fans and I promised my mom that we’ll be buying them this December. I also wanted to have one of those lg tvs that I found online and with only $229.99 as a price, I’m getting tempted already.

I’m sure it’ll be more fun to watch my fave TV shows and movies using this 19″ LCD HDTV. Maybe next year,  I can buy this already but for the meantime, this will goes to my wish list.

I’m always looking forward to weekends for it means the time to relax and unwind together with the whole family. Spending time together doesn’t mean that we need to go out to the malls or take a vacation all the time for we all can bond together and have fun at the comfort of our house. It’s also less expensive than going to the mall where your wallets can be drained when your kids will ask you to be extra things that are not needed.

We can have movie time in the living room, play games on the computer, have a barbeque at the backyard, or just relax and chill at the gazebo or sunroom. Sunrooms are perfect place to hang out with family and even your friends. It can become a luxury place, an extension in your home, where you can all have the view of the backyard as glass is surrounding the walls. Sunlight can generously come inside the sunroom making you opt not to open your lights making you save even more.

If you aim on having a sunroom in your homes, let Creative Energy Exteriors Home Improvements do the job for you as they have exquisite sunroom designs that you can choose. Creative Energy Exteriors Home Improvements not only have stunning architectural styles but also uses energy efficient glasses that can even make us save on our energy bills.

The next time you’re contemplating on house remodelling or improvements, don’t forget to put sunroom or even a gazebo on your list.

Enery Efficient Replacement Windows

My cousin recently moved to their new built house eventhough is wasn’t fully finished yet. With the increase of apartment fees each year, they’ve decided to just move in right away so that they can save on rentals fees. As soon as the budget allows them to start building the rest of the house, then they’d probably have the house painted and hire landscape contractors for the garden. The place is very promising so I’m sure it’ll look awesome when it’s fully constructed.

For those that are into house re-modeling, renovation can be expensive but if you’re going to do so, it’s much better to invest in high quality products than those poor quality ones even thought they are less expensive. If you’re looking for French sliding patio doors, Renewal by Andersen, a replacement window Boston company has quality replacement windows and sliding doors. Their products most can minimize the entry of UV rays that are harmful not only to our furniture but to our health as well. They can also reduce the heat and cold coming in thereby making our homes more energy efficiency.

Time flies very fast these days. In just the blink of an eye, it’ll be Christmas already soon and many of us are awaiting this wonderful time of the year. Would you believe that there are already some houses that have Christmas decors? They wanted to start the Christmas fever and wanted their house to be cheerful already.

Christmas is the time for house cleaning and decorations. I myself will schedule to do a general cleaning before I even put up our Christmas tree probably by the end of November. I don’t want to put any Christmas decorations this early as it may only collect some dust.

Area Rugs can be a perfect accent in the house. They can be available in many different styles, patterns and sizes that you can fit any room in the house. Just make sure to measure the width and length of the area you wish your rugs to be placed before going to the store, as it’ll be easier for you to find the perfect size. Shapes can vary from round, rectangular to oval, while colors can be on earth tone side. There are many beautiful patterns than can match the theme of you house.

Cheap Rugs are available at SuperiorRugs online. Aside from that they also have clearance sale on Persian and Oriental Rugs that are beautifully designed and crafted. These days there are rugs that have certain patterns or designs that goes well with your other furniture in the house. Taking the time to peruse all of the available designs that they have in the catalogue can be a great way to find what you are really looking for. Rugs also can liven up any drab room and can become a decorative of art. Just don’t put rugs with too busy patterns on an area in your home where they will clash with certain furniture, drapes or painting.

Now, I can’t wait to decorate our homes for the holidays. For sure, you’ll also be delighted to put new rugs and furniture at your homes soon.

Just one of the many concerns of any household owners is how to keep their homes safe all the time most especially when they have small kids. We all know that our homes are also a good breeding ground for pests if we’re careless in cleaning our surroundings. The water on your flower vase can be a good breeding for mosquitoes, so as much as possible we need to replace the water all the time or much better to refrain from keeping such in the house.

For houses that have been infested with cockroaches or termites, the only solution is to call an expert that can control them. If you’re in Houston area, you can call Bulls-Eye Pest & Termite Control, a Houston pest control company that offers not just control of termites or cockroaches control but on all pests (bed bugs, mosquitoes etc). They can service both residential and commercial customers.

Pests can thrive in our homes so it’s important that they’ll be eliminated to prevent them from spreading diseases in the future.
