Looking For a Brighter Future

As we all know global recession has a major impact for many workers since a lot of them lost their jobs. I see no reason why not a lot workers will lose hope or their spirits being dampen because of these incidents. As the world’s economy progresses and slowly moving forward again, jobs are still created and you can even browse jobs philly offers.

Don’t lose hope, have faith in yourself and just continue to search for jobs that will match your qualifications and hope for the brighter days ahead.

A W-A-H-M now

I’m so happy for my bestfriend RACE who happens to be a blogger like me. She recently quits her job for many years now to take care of her family more. She has 3 growing kids, 2 of which are girls and becoming teens and they needed more attention than usual. You know these days, kids need lots of supervision. Aside from that she is not happy with her job anymore so instead of working with a heavy heart she decided to become a WAHM, work at home that is.

She loves being at home and a blogger as well as she also earn a little that helps with household expenses. In fact, she is manning some workers because of the ongoing bathroom renovation and I am guessing that she will put tile flooring both on the CR and at the bathroom. I am happy and excited for her that she was able to have a little renovation at their house.

The Charm of Germany

Since the holidays are slowly creeping in and the weather getting cooler each day, i can’t help but to think and get excited over our Hongkong trip. I guess you must have noticed that I have blogged it often. Travelling is always fun especially if you travel with your family. It’s always the perfect time to bond with them and share the joys and precious moments that come along with discovering new places and culture.

We all know that one of the most visited places in the world is Europe and probably always wished places to visit. Aside from Paris which I have long been dreaming of perhaps Germany can be included in my wish list as well. I’ve come to know that Germany aside from its rich culture and history, boasts of great history legends like Beethoven, Albert Einstein just to name a few, architectures, sceneies and lots more.

Autobahn, is another thing which is Germany’s high-speed vehicular traffic that has no speed limits for drivers. Visitors or tourists in Germany will never have a hard time looking for a place to stay for there are lots of hotels where you can check in. Discover these nice key cities and learn more about Germany where you can explore mixtures of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Whether you are in business or leisure trip for sure Germany will capture our hearts.

Keeping Organized

Being organized is one of the things I wanted to implement in our household and here at my store. I think it looks so filthy if things are cluttered and that makes me not so inspired to work. I keep on asking my bro to keep his things in just one place and put his stuff in the right places or in boxes in that way we can minimize clutter.

Postponed

My sis and law and I were suppose to go to Divisoria today to shop for some stuff but it was postponed because she has to attend a meeting at her kids' school and at her office. I'm already geared up and giddy to shop but it was postponed yay. I'm not sure yet when because her schedules are busy. I don't want to go alone because its more fun to shop when you have a company.  Oh well there is always another day.

Pursuing Further Studies

I guess not many of you know that I earned a degree on B.S. Medical Technology many years ago and have passed the board exams with only one take. Being able to earn a degree will always be a star on your shoulder that you can be proud of. Though I regret not being able to fully use my profession due to unavoidable circumstances, I was able to achieve a different angle on my education.

I know many of you especially those that have not finished their studies because of early marriage, financial difficulties and other personal reasons, there’s always time to study and pursue the career that you are longing for. At Gonzaga University, you can earn your online master degree in MS Communication, Leadership or Nursing. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is willing to study and hone their craft. Gonzaga University an accredited top ranked private university are known to be offering online programs. So if you have the opportunity to study again don't hesitate in doing so, ok?

Yay, Christmas is Fast Approaching!!

It’s weekend once again and I can’t help but to think about shopping especially now that Christmas is fast approaching. Actually I am having a little bit of trouble making my shopping list this year because I end up listing more gifts for myself. Now that’s selfish but of course I will not do that.

I’ll need to think about what to give to my family and of course they expect me to give them a gift since they know that my blessing are slowly pouring in. Sure I will share it to them. I also remember the days when I receive business gifts from my suppliers on my former business. I miss those days when I get clocks, umbrellas, pins and more. Gone where the days though. I better make my list soon because days are flying so fast as I have noticed.

Accesorizing Our Gadgets

These days, mobile phones can now be considered a necessity rather than a luxury. With the ever growing trends on technology and gadgets one must keep up with the past-paced evolution of it. I have noticed that even the most ordinary people have mobiles phones compared to many years ago where only those that can really afford can have mobiles phones.

Thanks to the increasing number of mobile phone manufacturers because consumers now have many options with regards to what mobile phones that they can purchase. From simple mobile needs to a more complicated and hi-tech phones have sprouted over the years. Mobile companies have been coming up with latest styles each year, upgrading their styles and features that will suit every need of their consumers. Phone prices have become very competitive as well so consumers get to enjoy phones at an affordable prices.

Apple iPhones, Blackberry, Nokia and other popular mobile phone makers are releasing phones and they have become so popular and talk of the town. Aside from the influx of phones, accessories have also been getting trendier. I’ve been hearing a lot about iPhones and wishing I can get one too but I still can’t afford it.

Mobile phone users find it very appealing to accessorize their phones. Some even buy iphone dock for their iPhones and find them very useful. Online stores like Mobile Fun have massive collections of cellphone accessories like blackberry case for your Blackberry phones. These cases serve as a protection of your phone from scratches, dust and bumps. Most of these cases are made out of leather in different styles.

Mobile fun provides wide range of mobile accessories and you can easily choose what you are looking for by manufacturer, brands or by type. You can also find lots of bluetooth headset and other numerous products. Aside from that they also have gaming accessories that can complete your gadget accessories.

Thinking of Moving My other Blogs to WP

I only started to have 2 of my Wordpress blogs hosted at Godaddy and Blue Host this year. I’ve been longing to have a blog in Wordpress and finally my nephew taught me how to use it and willingly enough to accommodate me on his server. I have no technical expertise on that one so I gave him the full authority to host it for me.

I am quite used with blogger and other domain host so moving to WP is kinda different for me. There are times also that I wanted to move my other domain blogs in different format to Wordpress knowing that my nephew is there to help me anyway. I remember one time I mess up one of the settings in this blog that my blog became unavailable for about a day. My nephew fixed it and told me not to tinker with the codes..lol

Anyway, I think WP is more flexible in a lot of aspect that’s why many are blogging in this format. I’m still weighing things if I can move my other blogs without a glitch. I’m just too afraid that I will lose all the posts that I have and I have to make a back up then. Just in case you don’t have a blog yet, i think now is the time to get one. Read this best asp web hosting , it might help you in your host search and more.

Counting the Days Before Christmas

Wooot woot.. it's less than 70 days to go and it's Christmas once again. I have started thinking what to buy for gifts lately but I end up thinking gifts that I will give for myself. Argghh.. talk about being selfish lol . Nah I'm just gearing myself for my Nov. birthday that's why.

Anyway, I said to myself that this year I will also send early Christmas cards especially to our relatives abroad. I don't want then to receive the cards after the holidays so I better get those Christmas cards ready by November so that they will not be stuck in the mail.

Do We Always Need to Be Slim to Be Beautiful?

We have been bombarded with images of slim, skinny and almost skeleton like models on print ads and other commercials so there are times are thinking was swayed by the thought that they are the ones beautiful. We can never deny that some teens are desperately trying to lose a lot of weight and have been reading a lot of diet pill review just to look like a model or a celeb. There's nothing wrong by being slim but it's not the only thing that matters.

How Intuitive Are You??

We all have gut feelings and intuitions and sometimes we rarely pay attention to it. Sometimes it can help us with our decision in life so it's also important to heed it. This How Intuitive Are You? quiz tells me how intuitive I am.

You Are 60% Intuitive

Your intuition is often right, and you use it more than you may realize.Your gut feelings are usually a good guide, but you need more to go on when making a decision. You'll often check to see if the facts back up your feelings. And when your intuition is wrong, you work to improve it for the future.

The Perks of Owning Blog/s

Out of curiosity, I started my very first blog SIMPLY JEN in January of 2005 which was at a free hosted blog format bravejournal. I saw an online friend AnaPS’s blog and I thought it’s pretty cool to have my own too. I was so excited when I first launched my blog and my very first post. I was also keen on changing my blog header every now and then. Though bravejournal’s format is not so flexible when it comes to adding widgets and other settings, I was able to keep it alive sharing some of my thoughts and ramblings up to now.

I later on signed up at blogger in 2007 and it was also the same year when I first bought my own domain jennys-corner.com and it feels very different when you have your name as a domain. Through blogging I was able to share lots of my experiences, thoughts, photos, ideas and lots more. It also became a venue for me to vent out some of my frustrations over some issues. I’ve gain lots of friends as well and would you believe I have met many bloggers in real life already.

Through the years I’ve been adding blogs with different niches and though it’s been hard to keep all them, I have so much to thank as it also gave me the chance to earn extra while blogging.

This year as my blogging evolves I signed up at Wordpress and had this blog up online. I was lucky enough to have a good web host that is reliable enough to keep up with my demands. Right now, with all the blogs that I have, I hope I can still write good posts, encourage more people to blog and meet more new friends.

Wednesday Blahs

I got sick yesterday but I am feeling good already today. I just stayed at home to rest but still did some of my online works. The weather is so gloomy and it's been raining since lunch time. It looks like that a new weather disturbance is being eyed. It was a perfect time to sleep so after doing some works and after my late lunch at 2 pm, off I went to dream land. I feel refreshed after waking up as I was able to take a nap for 2 hours.

I've been craving for many foods right now and thought of asking my bro to buy grilled chicken and that is what we have for tonight. I wanted to eat a cake but forgot to ask them to buy me one. I'll munch so chocolates later.

Perfect Gift for the Babies

With all the events coming in later this year, yet another occasion is coming up. I guess you might have read on some of my older posts that my cousin’s wife is having twins. It’s my pleasure to tell you all that the twins are here already as they where born via a Caesarean section last Sunday. They are both twins and of course their parents are simply overjoyed with their arrival.

Babies are gifts and blessings from above and it brings joy to parents. Another addition to the family and I could just imagine how busy my cousin and his wife will be taking care of it. I have yet to see the baby soon and I have to find out who looks like them. I already got a word from my other cousin that the kids are fair and pretty and that makes me more excited to see them.

The baptismal probably will be scheduled Dec. as well if they’ll have the budget for this celebration. Fortunately I already a gift in my mind and this is something that the babies will definitely use. I saw some baby beddings at Baby Bedding Place and I reckon these would be nice as a gift. Now that we know that they are both girls then the pink and the purple beddings will perfectly fit their nursery. It’s actually a 12 pc. set with pillows and all so it’s already complete.

The Car Allowance Program for You and Your Employees

What makes an employee stay with his employer for a long time? I always believe that if the employers are taking care of the employees the best way possible, they will have a long term relationship to look forward to. One of the perks that a businessman can give his staff is vehicle reimbursement program or more commonly called Car allowance program for those employees who are constantly on the road, using a personal vehicle, for official business. There is this company who calls itself Corporate Reimbursement Services, Inc (CRS) which does consultancy job for companies that might need help on customizing programs for individual employees. Rates do vary depending on insurance, tax and gas prices at the areas that each employee goes to everyday.

With this in mind, creating a database for reimbursement purposes becomes a laborious task for the business owner. This is where CRS comes in the picture and everything becomes easier for the client. With the system CRS offers, a business entity will save on costs because there will be no need to issue company-owned vehicles. Instead, the employee will just be equitably and fairly reimbursed of costs, as computed by the CRS program, for the use of his personal car.

Don't You Just Hate Scammers and Hackers?

I guess most of you know some scams that are circulating everywhere. Nasty individuals have no conscience in spreading scams even on text messages looking for a victim that will fall prey on their modus operandi. Others have high tech way of knocking off someone’s credit card accounts and this is alarming.

These high-tech criminals are equipped with knowledge on how to hack systems on secured areas and other money yielding companies. Due to this some are very scared to even use their credit card on online transactions most particularly on unsecured sites. I know our credit card companies are providing or exerting their utmost efforts in trying to protect our accounts. Maybe they have sought those credit card tokenization services and other valuable solutions whereby criminals will have a hard time hacking your account.

Stories of hacked credit cards may be alarming that’s why we need to be careful on all our offline and online transactions. It will be too hard to run after them when your account have been charged without you knowing. Arghhh and that is scary.

Midnight Blogging

Electric power here in our has been on and off since last night because of the recent fire on a power plant.  It's been hard since it's never too comfortable  without any electricity plus the fact that my net cafe business is disabled because of it. I'm just taking advantage of the power right now which came back at around 9:30 pm last night. I heard on the news that rotating blackout will last till Monday next week and it's sounds bad. arghhhh...

I was able to whip up some post and actually I wanted to finish some new tasks that I got just today. Electric power is unpredictable so I need to hurry up before it's gone again. Yay it's 12:41 already and I'm still up and about.

Getting His Net Cafe Back

I guess you’ve already know about the recent calamities that has hit our country in the last 2 weeks. We are slowly moving on but help are still needed especially those families that literally have nothing in their hands. While some have managed to bring some few pieces of clothing while they run to safe ground during the Ondoy flood there are many who only are left with the cloths that they are wearing.

Worst is that all their appliances were submerged in thick muddy flood waters and it is awful to know that. I even know someone whose Internet cafĂ© computers, networking cables and routers bec. of the flood. He wasn't able to save them as water rises quickly. Now he’s been trying to restore some of the cpus but with the looks of it most of them will not work anymore.

I know it’ll be hard for him to invest on new net station once more but the good thing is that there are refurbished computers and refurbished cisco network products that he can look into. In this way, he can save more and can continue his affected business.

I Need to Schedule

I’ve been putting off the visit to my dentist lately and I don’t know why. It may seem so embarrassing to say that it’s been many months now that I haven’t had my regular teeth cleaning. Blame it on my procrastinating manner sometimes. My dentist told me to visit her every 3 months or so bec. in that way I can have my gums and teeth healthy.

You know sometimes we take for granted our oral health but with the looks of it aside from of course we need to keep ourselves from getting a bad breath we also need to be aware of other conditions that can arise in our mouths. You might be ignoring the popping and clicking in your jaws for sometime now but it can be the cause of a TMJ, temporomandibular joint dysfunction. It can be serious but there’s this San Diego TMJ Treatment that can help align your jaws without subjecting yourself to a surgery.

10 Things You Want But Can’t Afford

I am joining this week's meme at Ten on Tuesday  10ot_2
10 Things You Want But Can’t Afford
1. iMac like that of my sister
2. L and macro lens for my DSLR
3. House and Lot of my own
4. Brand new family van
5. Travel around the world and go France to see Eiffel Tower, I even dreamed of it in my sleep hehe
6. Coach, LV and other designer bags
7. New furniture at home
8. Home make-over or  renovation
9. Buy properties and build apartments and spaces for rent
10. Endless shopping  without thinking about money

Spending and Saving

I love shopping but actually I am a very disciplined one if I can boast of that. I may splurge a little bit from time to time but I would not even dare to shop beyond my means. Sure there are moments when I just want to  shop till I drop and empty  my purse or  my savings account but my heart and my mind would not allow that to happen. I am still sane when it comes spending and saving.

I know of someone who uses her credit card for her shopping endlessly not knowing she’s already overspending not until her bills came which is up to the ceiling already. Poor girl, she even issued lots of checks that she can’t even cope in putting funds in it. Collection Agencies are already calling to her and all she can do is to hide and asks her relatives not to say where she is. Bouncing check is a illegal and she can be sued for that, fortunately she settled it our of the court already by talking to the person.

She has learned her lessons already and I don’t think she will ever do that again. We should be responsible for all our debts and we need to keep the discipline to ourselves so in the future, chances are we can apply for loans or use our credit cards again with confidence.

Thankful Thursday

After experiencing the havoc of Typhoon Ondoy, I have many things that I am thankful for and here are they;
1. We are still alive and no one was hurt in our family
2. Our Toyota Tamaraw vehicle, eventhough it was stuck and would not start up was still lucky to have not been submerged in the water unlike those people whose cars was being swiped away by the raging floods. It is so sad that some cars will not be used anymore, where the engines, seats, their led tail lights and almost the whole vehicle was a total wreck.
4. The floods in our area subsides after few hours.
5. Our electric power was restored in the house after being cut off for only 5 mins.
6. Our properties were not damaged.

There are more to thank for but the greatest is that we are so alive and we Thank you Lord for that.
